Care to define the mark-up for me? I don't use NND but the example you link to seems to be inserting a script tag with the source based on a mangled form of the URL entered by users (between a "media" mark-up). Lots of pit-falls in that from a security prospective, if the URL is not properly cleaned. It might be relying on features of their forum software (IP Boards), given the generality of the tag name, to make adding support easier. Doesn't mean we can't (almost anything is possible) just it might take more work.
No fundamental objections to adding it but I don't have the time to research the requirement, like I say I've not used NND myself. [Someone] Give me something more technically complete to work with and I'll consider it. |

i thought the idea is site admin can add BB code on their forum by using script modification.
BB code basically shortcut to to larger HTML file. for example Quote:

Please do NOT try using this tag yet (it might be disabled in the near future). I'm posting it here as a sort of beta test. It requires JavaScript. If you have problems with it or this page as a result, please let me know:

I looked and looked, but it appears they only provide a JavaScript interface to the videos in-lining. Additionally that script uses (in every case I tried) a "document.write" method of adding content to the page. This causes lots of problems, specifically it doesn't work with the forum's pusdo-AJAX functions. Long-story-short it was a bit of a headache, but the solution (found while solving another BB code issue), while maybe not suitable for all platforms, seems to work well enough. Edit: Sorry, wasn't clear why I'm telling you this: the solution involved making the script download happen after the page loads, hence the observable delay while it downloads another script, runs it, and then adds the video to the page.

Well... you could but I'd rather not. Basically be aware that I might disable it at any moment; and so any videos you post will stop working if I do.
Edit: I should say, feel free to try it in this thread. It is useful testing. |

I'm using Chromium 16 (on Lubuntu) with Flash 11.1 and none of the NicoNico videos works. The player control works and (presumably) Japanese characters scroll across the video when it is played, but the video itself remains black as in the image above.
The YouTube video works. |

Basically if the YouTube version works, there is nothing wrong with the BB code tag I created (and thus anything in my control to fix). If the video controls display and you can press play, then the video script created by Nico Nico is working, and thus it is that specific content or your link to their site that is at fault. If the controls don't appear, then it is a problem with their video script/player. As mentioned previously that could be due to a flash version check and upgrade attempt presumably performed by the player but being blocked by browser's security. Bottom line: if the button (icon and text in the top left) functions, anything else is likely to be beyond my control. |
