Currently building. Procrastinating.
3.0 has LOTSA parts. Color separation pieces and whatnot, like a gajillion of small pieces for the torso alone. BUT. I will not rule out a beginner for as long as there's the instructions manual. The only thing that would be a downer is the lack of patience, you need a great deal of patience.

I'm excited that we will soon also get a normal Robot damashii deathscythe. He is my favorite gundam from the show and i have absolutely no love for teh MG katoki version. Anybody know yet if he will be a normal release or a exclusive, we hope nomal off course.
My RD deathscythe Hell is underway with a load of other figures (RD leo fight type, sandrock and extreme gundam, etc...) and should arrive end of the week. I'm gonna promote RD a bit. So in cold style suiton tradition here is my RD want list - Zaku warrior (all variants) - zaku phantom (all variants) - saviour - red frame - blue frame - green frame - gold frame - mirage frame - Impulse (all variants) - gaia - abyss - chaos - ginn (all variants) - cgue (all variants) - G-exes - G- bouncer - strike noir That's a nice start for 2014 |

And this is the 3.0: One of the major differences is that the 2.0 faithfully replicates anime-accurate proportions and you will also notice the lack of details that's immediately apparent on the 3.0. The 3.0 replicates the realistic details of the 1/144 Real Grade variation. While the OYW Ver. still beats the 3.0 in sheer details, the 3.0 makes up for more range of movement, particularly the PG-type hands with individually-poseable fingers. And with details comes with more parts. Just look at the legs and the arms.

MG RX-78 1.0 doesn't have much inner frame, only few parts with hatch-able armor that shows off the fake inner detail, that's it. I grow up with the design itself as seen in Char's Counterattack game on PS1(which also features the storyline of One Year War as flashbacks) so I still like the version 1.0.

I will also throw in that IMO, the OYW version still have one of the best overall looks too, plus its cheaper than the 2.0 and 3.0 by a good $15 at least if money is a concern
Ok totally getting the HG Star Build Strike now after seeing its debut, but Ill be switching some of the stuff from the Full Package, the new gun does not appeal to me at all Edit: Also going to have to get the Universal Booster for the effect parts Last edited by Skye629; 2013-12-09 at 14:42. |

Slightly off-topic but is anyone else annoyed by GG's "Comment visible after approval" moderation? I mean, I understand it reduces the SEED hate, the trolls, spams and hateful comments but urgh, it kinda killed the comments section. And not surprisingly, there's still "GG fold up cause of watermark" nonsense. Just had to vent it out as I kinda wanna know both sides of the supporter/hater of certain categories like Gunpla releases and model reviews.
Bringing it back on-topic. Broke the beam saber holder again and glued that thing. |

Guess I either experiment with brush or use pencil for it.

Thus, all parts that are of thin plastic layer, like the beam saber's female peg and the circular gear cover for the knee, will become brittle and crack. It is sad but at least they gave you a total of 4 beam sabers, 2 for mounting on core fighter/backpack and 2 with male pegs for the hands. [I also broke the same part for RG Freedom, Justice, GP01 FB, RX-78-2] But don't let that bother you, it's a great kit so far. I'm liking the details on this otherwise small unit. The corefighter's fun to build and combine with the torso and the details aren't too overwhelming. Plus, it's very stable and solid, unlike RG Zeta. One thing though, the torso may not feel as "tightly fit" due to the core fighter. And for colouring head vulcans in HG, I choose the lazy way of dabbing the marker on it, and once dried, I scrape the excess lightly using a pen knife. There's sanding-like marking left as a result, which I cover using matte topcoat. But of course, that is a very lazy way to do it instead of using a toothpick and painting it or something |
