It's been a long time (2 weeks?) since I last wrote a post on these forums. I know this thread is for Introductions, but I hope the moderators and administrators will turn a blind eye as I write a farewell post. (Or they could make a Farewell thread... )
To give a short explanation for those who don't know, I'll be leaving tomorrow (18 June) for enlistment into my country's National Service, for a usual tenure of 2 years, and I decided from some time ago that I'll leave the whole anime scene for this period of time. Basically, I'll be leaving my user Lost alone for a long time. I'll stop watching animes (other than continuing series I've started this Spring 07 season), posting here, chatting in IRC and fansubbing with the good people at Shinsen and Formula. Recently, certain developments in my country seem to have shown my choice to be a prudent one, allowing me to lie low until this "suing illegal fansub downloaders" bullshit blows over. I'm writing this, because I want to sincerely thank everyone of you here that I had the pleasure of posting with; even better, discussing indepth and laughing with and generally having a fun time. We all share a common love for this form of entertainment, Anime, and being with fellow anime-lovers, seeing expert critiques or emotional expositions... I enjoyed it all this while. Even tho I wasn't here for very long (one and a half years to date), it feels like this place is my home (well, I did start Lost out here, in the Mai HiME sub-forum). Thank you all very much. Especially, I need to thank GHDPro for starting this great site. I want to thank him, and all the other administrators (off-hand, NoSanninWa - thank you for all the cookies!, xris - Oji-san!, NightWish - Shinku <3) and moderators for running this place so well and making my stay here ever pleasant. This is a great and respectable forum with a wonderful community supporting it, and I wish it further success in everyway. To my friends from the Rozen Maiden sub-forum, I enjoyed posting there the most and having discussions ranging from nonsensical to downright serious, when it was at its peak: still confined within a humble thread and later when we got the sub-forum. I hope to continue on with you guys when I return. People in the beloved Mushishi thread, thank you too (all the best with Mushishi Alternative, Cal-reflector) and here's to Ginko's harem. That's it I guess. Thanks again to everyone I had a good time with (Thanks to KiNa and Cats too for some great tutorials!). I'll be back, and when I am, I hope to see everyone still here. Hi, I'm new here - just registered about fifteen minutes ago and have been trying to figure out exactly where the smilies I put in will end up. Um . . . I guess I should introduce myself?
Please just use my username to get my attention - I hate my real name. (Has to do with being Japanese with a very ordinary Japanese name but being raised with a bunch of foreign people with - to me - cool-sounding names.) People like to look at me and classify me as a study freak, but I'm actually a closet おたく [otaku]; my favorite hobby is to write fanfiction. Right now I'm mostly hooked on Eyeshield 21, Ouran High School Host Club, and Yugioh GX, as well as manga. I'm also bilingual working on trilingual, so I'd like to make use of this useless second language (Japanese) I had to learn at school . . . any ideas, anyone? I guess that's about it for now . . . see you! |
