Like the guys in karate screaming "HAAHHH!!" when they punch the air. Besides Tennis, being a 1on1 duell with no chance for a draw, no boring tactical plays, no preset gametime and little room for 'dirty tactics' like diving, is one of the best sports to watch. Also it ranks incredibly low on my self invented fail skala! The skala measures how much time athletes in a given sport spent on something without achieving the defined goal of that sport. For example soccer is almost on top of that skala: In soccer you are supposed to score goals. Yet only a very small set of actions in a given game actually lead to a goal. So the rest of the time all the athletes on the field are constantly failing their sport. They might as well just sit there and wait. Unwatchable. Tennis on the other hand has failed first serves, but not much else in the way of fails. Watch. |

Believe it or not...this is the transcript of an actual radio conversation between a US naval ship and Canadian authorities off the coast of Newfoundland in October 1995. The Radio conversation was released by the Chief of Naval Operations on Oct. 10, 1995.
US Ship: Please divert your course 0.5 degrees to the south to avoid a collision. CND reply: Recommend you divert your course 15 degrees to the South to avoid a collision. US Ship: This is the Captain of a US Navy Ship. I say again, divert your course. CND reply: No. I say again, you divert YOUR course! US Ship: THIS IS THE AIRCRAFT CARRIER USS CORAL SEA*, WE ARE A LARGE WARSHIP OF THE US NAVY. DIVERT YOUR COURSE NOW!! CND reply: This is a lighthouse. Your call. Spoiler for .:

Hmmmm. Considering the date and year was calulated by post-contact translators as to when in our calender the Mayan calender would cycle...this is entirely an invalid arguement. (Leap Year is a construct to account for each year being 365 and a quarter days long...but even that is slightly off, so we don't have three over the course of each 400 years. to account for the error. There was no Leap Year in 1900, nor 1800, nor 1700, but there was one in 1600 and 2000.)
There have been about 499 Leap Days by they way. But the Native Americans say the White Man is dumb for thinking the world will end. Cycles repeat. They say it will be a great change, and the world might not be the same as before...but it is not an ending. But perhaps a beginning.
