Question about the variety of K-Drama.

I don't watch that much K-Drama (I'm more of a sitcom guy), but it seems to me that anytime there is a series airs on the Vietnamese channels, it follows an extremely formulaic plotline (for example: Poor, nice girl pushed into despair by a rich, obsessive girl, then after so many obstacles created by the rich girl the poor girl emerged victorious), characterization, design, etc.

So I want to ask the people who watch a lot of K-Drama: Are these shows all the same, or there are some which at least try to subvert or deconstruct the genre? Any recommend on originality?
