Yeah it was pretty slow paced like andrewsch5658 said, but wow holy wow the art is on a completely different level now. I'm thankful this series went monthly for this reason alone.

As I already said last month, I hate the new artstyle. It's not the first time D.gray-man's art changes all of a sudden, but this time, I seriously don't think it was for the best. The good thing is that the battles are less messy and easier to follow now.

Agreed. I haven't been checking DGM for the last 20 chapters, and the art did change a lot when I browsed c197. It's like I'm reading a really different manga. Right now, I don't think I'd be able to easily recognize even Allen anymore.

What a baffling twist. So it turns out that the girl of Kanda's dreams ( that was he inherited from the exorcist he's implanted with, not his own ) is already dead/brain-dead and is implanted inside Alma from the very beginning. What I find slightly confusing was how the girl knows about Kanda's memory lapse regarding the 'I have a vision of one girl haunting me and I promise to meet her even if I don't know her', since well, he's never told anyone.

And we've finally seen how Allen's Noah looks like. And Timcampy can evolve into a larger combat-type Golem which manages to destroy the sealing barrier. Either it's a fail-safe implemented by Cross, or Timcampy was actually connected to the 14th to begin with.

That certainly was quite a twist... I never would have guessed Alma was the girl Kanda was looking for. Will Allen tell Kanda? If he does, it will destroy his reason to live. As for the reason why Alma/the Girl knew about Kanda's memory lapse, Allen said last chapter that Alma should have also seen the reason Kanda chose to live, so I guess he was shown the same flashback before waking up.

And so, we finally see the 14th, Neah Noah. Cool name, bro.

The only thing I cared about this chapter was the 14th awakening. I remember
a little more than a year ago when 187 came out that I noticed that the 14th had an uncanny resemblance to Tykki in appearance and how that would add a layer to his and Allen's rivalry but now I'm not so sure if that holds any reason anymore.

It's truly unfortunate that Hoshino-sensei not only became sick during this arc but also with the magazine shift, it really killed it. Such a shame, I had really high hopes for it since Kanda was one of the characters I was very interested in learning more about

I don't think anyone would've guessed that Alma was actually a women in the first place lol Anyway, I don't see Allen telling Kanda anything about it otherwise, as you said it would destroy his reason to live on. Besides, he has his own problems at the moment :P

Yeah this is basically how i feel. Don't like that Alma turned out to be the girl Kanda was looking for, at all. There's nothing i can do about it though, so i'll just carry on enjoying what D.Gray-man has become. Ah well.

Neah is totally awesome though, and at least the art is still absolutely beautiful.

Wow, the 14th looks awesome. I like his appearance, it has "coolness" written all over it. Though his name is kind of odd. But at least we finally got a name. ^^

What struck me weird was, even if the 14th has awakened, Allen seemed to be himself afterwards at the end of the chapter. Huh?

Kanda looked dead for sure one moment, the next he was flying around. I didn't think his regeneration would kick in at that point. Looks like Kanda and Alma will be gonne for a while, if not indefinitely.

Loved the look on Leverier's face when Allen said the church wouldn't get in their way any more.

And it seemed like Kanda was dead , but where the hell are the Generals ?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure their ability to regenerate was used up last chapter for both. No clue how Kanda recovered this time. Alma, on the other other hand, didn't really recover; he turned into something else completely. So, if Alma is pure dark matter what happens to the innocence inside him?

Anyway, Allen made a little nest for the two lovebirds so they probably have plenty of time to figure out what the hell happened.

I'm just glad we finally got some explanations on the 2nd and 3rd exorcists, Alma Karma, Kanda's weird flashbacks and what the purpose of the Earl's invasion was this time. It was so frustrating all this time to be moving ahead in the dark without understanding why all these things were happening. Compared to all that Kanda and Alma's current states are trivial.

The only big question left now is what really happened to Cross Marian.

This is really a sad chapter for Kanda and Alma part.T_T it seems like Alma is really dead because he/she(can't differentiate Alma's identity anymore) didn't response to Kanda in pg 28/29.T_T

One good laugh for me is that Allen caught the Earl to reach the top.xD Eat that Earl->by Allen.:P
Also, notice that the Ark Gate doesn't have any number. So the Earl and others really can't find them.
