I get the impression the CG fans saw her eye and just automatically made the assumption it was a reference to CG or a borrowing from CG -- whereas it doesn't seem to have a blooming thing to do with CG.
This reminds me of how the sword laevateinn, is sometimes seen as a Nanoha reference by young gamers and animefans alike.

Hmmm... something akin to the 'evil eye' then?
EDIT: Why the hell does everyone clam up when I say something?
EDIT: Fine, if no one's gonna talk, i'll take this time to gloat about my scrapbook.
*Ahem* 13 animated gifs, 3 light novel illustrations, 21 pieces of offical art, 127 screen captures, and 194 pieces of fan art. The Koumori gallery is equipped with sources and is updated daily.

You know I'm sure i'm the only one on this forum who made the Code Geass reference. This is starting to be a major pain...

I didn't know there were this much Koumori fanarts around. That's pretty good for a guy who died in a first episode. He's really made quite an impression on people, huh? (reminds me of Burger-kun from DtB) I'm not that big of a Koumori fan but I can understand why.

Now that I think of it, Togame really reminds me of Mana from Mermaid Forest. She's trying hard to be independent, but she's stuck in her princess phase. Plus, she's always getting stuck as a damsel in distress.

Official website update.
The sword holder of Sentou Tsurugi, named Tsuruga Meisai, is voiced by Atsuko Yuya. Don't really know her...
Atogatari for Episode 02 and Maegatari for Episode 03 (you can hear her voice actor talking there) are also available.
Though, apparently Aniplex changed the way they're played and something went wrong so they don't load for me right now...

Anyway, images!
Spoiler for Monthly illustration:

Also:
Wallpaper
Character design

-----------------
Unrelated note: I really like those minimalistic art backgrounds they use in trailers with rice paper texture overlay. They really made at the very least a dozen of those illustrations and they don't show them for more than a couple of seconds in trailers only! I am currently trying to recreate a picture or two since they're not really all that complex.

Nope. He didn't make it to the audio drama either - Togame voices the first chapter. (Following parts seem to be done by sword holders of the month)

Am I the only one who had a problem with the dialogue in ep 2,YET, quite liking bakemonogatari's excessive dialogue?
I found katanagatari ep2's to be long and arduous, and quite frankly too much reliance on breaking the 4th wall.
Togame's whole fashion thing is also somewhat irritating. I know its very normal and understandable for women to act like that, but if i wanted realistic women, id rather watch the numerous reality tv shows or go outside and chat to real girls.

To be fair though, the shows still got its good points like the whole setup of "stay behind me, il protect you" and the catchphrase tying up at the end. The action was somewhat better than the first ep's as well, although i do miss koumouri's crazy voice.
I'll prob watch another ep or two before deciding whether to drop it.

P.S. What are the opinions of novel readers of both bakemonogatari and katanagatari? Which one do you think has better writing/dialogue?

Probably because of the length. 20-ish minutes of full on dialogue is much easier to handle than 40-something.

At least they don't reference random anime Isin liked or discuss virginity for 10 minutes straight or something.

Bakemonogatari might have better writing, but for what this writing conveys, I prefer my Sword Tales.

Haha, kinda off topic, but I love that blog (Zaregoto Hiyori). It's so up to date on all Nisio stuff-one of the few blogs that I check daily =P.

I know about those, but they were made before anime. I meant an artbook with anime-original illustrations.

Spoiler for incredibly lame joke:

Probably way too early to worry about.. but any news releases on anime figures of Togame and Shichika would be much appreciated. Would love to have a set of this pair.
