English dub that do it better than the Japanese versions?

Take Dragon Ball for example, I always thought they found the perfect VA for Goku compared to his Jappanese VA. Than I absolutely loved the music.

Yu Yu Hakusho is another good one in my opinion.

What about you guy's?

I would say Baccano!

The New York setting definitely helps. :P

Seconding Baccano!, adding Railgun. Having watched the second season in English, I've no idea how seriously I would've taken Satomi Arai's Kuroko when her feelings for Mikoto were portrayed with much more sincerity.

Oda Nobuna no Yabu (The Ambition of Oda Nobuna), while really good as a sub, is awesome in its dub form. Whoever wrote the English script needs to be knighted.

Baccano, definitely. The Japanese delivery felt so wrong for supposedly American characters. Also, the old OVA Special Duty Combat Unit Shinesman was a lot better dubbed, probably because the cast was just having a good time with how ridiculously camp it all was.

Not sure why anyone would prefer the Railgun dub. The dubbing was passable overall, but the way they directed Kuroko was terrible. In the dub, she's just kind of an annoying, childish sidekick character. In the original, she's this uniquely bizarre proper ojo with an old lady voice who just so happens to have an uncontrollable yuri libido for Mikoto.

Cowboy Bebop, Baccano, Panty and Stocking (can't believe I'm naming that), Railgun (possibly, or maybe its just Brittney Karbowski and Satens VA who I could listen to all day), Full Metal Panic.

I thought Gurren Lagann's dub was very good. All the core characters had just about perfect voices for their roles, and young!Nia's voice was great for comedy moments at times.

El Hazard: The Magnificent World is an older anime with a dub that I liked a lot.

With both of these, I probably prefer the dub a little bit over the sub.

Since I'm watching it right now, I'd say the Dub for Fairy Tail is quite good. Like the Japanese cast, but its much funnier to listen to the comedy in my native tounge.

I think comedy generally works better in your native language as comedy relies greatly on its delivery. If you don't understand the native tongue it can be very difficult for the delivery to come across sufficiently.

Can't really think of a dub that is better, I just don't like dubs in general. original language is king for me.

As a fluent, native speaker of both languages and almost four decades long anime watcher, I have not seen even one case of a foreign language dub being better than the original voice cast. This goes both ways. (such as Japanese dubs of English shows/films)
Yes, I've seen English speakers claim a dub is better, but they are never native in both, and frankly I think their personal relateability is influencing their preference.

I have seen rare cases where the dub was more "fitting" for the show, such as Baccano, but "better" in general? Nope. Not once.
I do prefer to hear Revy dub's English over the terrible English of the original voice actress in Black Lagoon though.

I think there were instances when I thought a Japanese voice for a particular character did a bad job, which leaves a bit of a stain on the show, but if I take all voices into account I haven't come across such a show. And I'm not even being elitist, I just think with the amount of talent interested and the infrastructure Japan has for producing seiyuu, I just don't think it's possible for English casts to hold a candle to Japan. U.S. market just keeps recycling the same talent over and over again, cronyism is big ...

I loved Panty and Stocking's dub. Not that the original was bad, mind you, but Garterbelt was even more hilarious in English.

Personally though, I think Evangelion's dub was pretty darn good. Hearing Japanese Asuka speak mangled German just makes my ears bleed...
