Final Destination was what came to my mind earlier on as well. The recent death seems to fit the mold of looking too much like an accident, even if there's no other proof available at this time.

They killed off the nice girl. And so horribly too...

For a second I hoped that they'd just take her eye... but no they killed her horribly. Of course the irony is that if she hadn't panicked and run she wouldn't have died.

God. Damn it. I wouldn't have noticed the shadow if you hadn't pointed it out. Simply looking at the shadow sends a shiver down my spine. I wonder if that's the victim or the culprit.

Can't recall ever being creeped out by anime but this is probably the closest I've come in a while. Camera and music are perfect. I might be more creeded out if I wasn't mildly annoyed by all the "bla bla... it's too early for you to know... bla bla... there's a time and place for everything... we'll tell you later... etc" bullshit. Lack of information is a genre convenion for horror I suppose but it's too bloody convenient and overused here after barely an hour into the show.

oh dear lord...hadn't noticed it either.

I just checked the elevator scene from episode 2 and there's no shadow,though I still wonder how it got from the 5th floor to the basement.
