PS: It seems that sleeping with animals is more popular in the West than East (except for myths). |

Yep, I know three separate Eastern Fairytales, one about a Chrysanthemum flower spirit, one about an elm spirit, and another about a Lingzhi flower girl. (Lingzhi can't flower, as it is a Fungi, but magic can do anything.) The Chrysanthemum and Elm stories are similar, both about a plant spirit appearing in the guise of a woman because they fell in love with a mortal man. In both cases, the marriage was successful, but in the end the husband laid dying or dead by some tragedy, and the spirit sacrificed all her powers over the centuries to revive him. The price payed being she had to revert to a normal plant once more, and the husband took care of the plant for the rest of his life. The story about the Lingzhi Flowergirl was far less pleasant, but it was the guy's fault. Spoiler for spoiler purely to save space.:

I hope you're not confusing the vast majority of furry fans with "barnyardanimals.com" nonsense........ because if you are, you're absolutely offbase.

Anyway, as I mentioned before, Ookami to Koushinryou is a light novel series published under the Dengeki Bunko label, a label that's aimed at teenage boys/men in their twenties, so Ookami to Koushinryou is more like a shounen/seinen light novel series. well, that's the target readership of most boy's (shounen) light novel labels. Anyway, looking at the content of the light novel will not get you anywhere, there are shounen manga with no explosions and pantsu too. Remember that shounen/seinen are only target readership, and the target readership of Dengeki Bunko light novels are males in their teens/twenties.

Um, lets see... -Horo might praise Abiru for knowing quality -Horo might play around with Abiru -Turn into a wolf and eat Abiru -Abiru cuts off Horo's tail and adds it to her collection <-- The things is that Abiru is obsessed with tails, but Horo is not dumb enough to get caught. -Abiru chases Horo all through the country and neither will give up.

I think they're passable ... actually pretty amazing for speed-subs. I've got decent opinions of both Ayako and BSS so its a coin flip on highly subjective interpretations as to which translation you prefer.
I usually download one or two episodes from each candidate fansub group and compare over lunch hour.

Some thoughts carried from another thread:
I've seen a few indications, reviews, and analyses that many of the sub groups are "not quite getting it right" in terms of Horo's dialog and speech patterns. It is fairly established she uses a dialect reminiscent of an "18th C. Edo courtesan (pleasure girl)" ... but translating that effect into subtitles to give the viewer that feeling is quite tough. English just lacks the subchannels to add that feeling. Something elegant but erotic is needed ... now what kind of written *words* would one use to convey that? Much sympathies for the translators, editors, and QC people in the various subgroups trying to capture that.
