One Piece - Chapter 606 [Manga]

Title: Adventure in the Depth

-While scouting the depths, Sunny Thousand is attacked by a jellyfish (unknown, how a jellyfish attacks the ship; presumably it is huge). Chopper attempts to touch the jellyfish (maybe trying to talk to it?), but it is poisonous (did he touch it or not?), and Franky blows it away with a Coup de Burst (can’t wait to see how that turned out).

-Caribou, meanwhile, hides himself in a barrel . Thinking to himself, he realizes that e cannot control the ship by himself, so he decides not to attempt to fight the rest of the crew until they reach Fishman Island.

-As the ship continues its journey, they encounter volcanoes, a massive angler fish (which tries to eat the Thousand Sunny), and a massive giant (described in the spoilers as being as a similar species to San Juan Wolf) who hits the angler fish and admonishes it for attempting to eat the ship (), but...

-Suddenly, The Flying Dutchman appears (along with accompanying spooky music). The ships’ captain is Van der Decken (and he and the crew are described as being cursed to wander the seas). And the giant mentioned earlier? Turns out to be a crew member of der Decken’s, and they all attack the Thousand Sunny, until…

-The Kraken (named Surume now) appears helping the Thousand Sunny to escape. It seems Luffy has tamed it during their fall, and the entire crew joins back up together.

-The chapter ends with the volcano about to erupt…

Couple things missed on the first post, significant one being Franky notices Cariboo being a logia, and locking him up in the said barrel.

Looks like Caribou's out of the picture till they get to Fishman Island.~

The Flying Dutchman eh? Seems like we were overdue for a more traditional ghost ship. (If you want to consider Thriller Bark a ghost ship. =p)

And the Kraken's tamed after all. Luffy's Haki sure is something.~

Now.... about that giant..... how is it breathnig underwater? Is it wearing some special something? Or is it just...... breathing somehow?


I expect the Dutchman's entire crew to look like Brook~

Reviews for this chapter:

Thousand Sunny being attacked by a jellyfish and an angler fish (real name for the lantern fish I should mention). Franky finding out Caribou is a Logia therefore Franky locked Caribou in a barrel. We get introduced to One Piece's version of that infamous ship: the Flying Dutchman. And last of all Luffy managed to tame the kraken afterall. All that training must have really paid off so far.

I knew it Luffy would be able to tame the Kraken. Luffy is pro with animals now. He was on that island for 2 years.

^Davy Jones has already (kind of) appeared, so has the Kraken. So the Flying Dutchmen, another of the major Sea stories/myths, was bound to appear eventually.

Looks like it just a repetition of what happen when Luffy tamed that cerberus in Thriller Bark: one hit to show him who's the boss here

There is a sea giant...a huuuuge sea giant, probably the same kinda species of giant that Sanjuan Wolf is. This sea giant has webbed hands. I think this slowly starts to solve the mystery behind just what the hell Sanjuan Wolf is...although he's probably the biggest of his kind....

Does he absorb something? Does something pass right through him? Does he openly say it by accident? .... or has Franky upgraded his sunglasses to tell him what Devil Fruits people have~?

Caribou probably decided it was time to attack, and slipped out of his ropes. Franky was the only one who noticed this because everyone else was searching for the Big Three. Still no idea whether the barrel was on the ship or if he pulled it out of his own body, though...

he scanned him. one of his upgrades is the ability to tell, if there is a DF power and what kind it is
