If there's any great diplomat, it's either Fianna or Kamito himself. Afterall, Fianna is a gigantic manipulator, and Kamito is just amazing, being able to put up with the ojou-samas.

Outside of Est who is just so sweet and cute, my favorite is probably Fianna because her personality and boldness outshines everyone else. She is the most creative and is able to think of all sorts of things to appeal to Kamito's other side. Ellis is next because she is one of the few tsundere who I like because of how cute she gets when she wants Kamito to do something with her (i.e. pointing a sword at Kamito). Rinslet isn't bad, but she's not as developed in this series.

I remember several times that the female leads are described as extremely intelligent when in reality a lot of their actions are questionable at best and to dumb to live at worst. I could likely look back and find more descriptions that don't match how they really are but intelligence was the biggest one.

Actually, Aria was described as relying more on her intuition than actual intelligence. This is the reason why she was estranged from the rest of her family, because the other Holmes rely upon their legendary deduction skills.

I think of it as book smart vs. street smart. The girls are all high class ladies who have been shielded from the harsh realities of life and taught by their families to follow the proper etiquette. By comparison, Kamito is someone who has gutted it out with others with his life at stake during his younger years and then explored the world with Restia.

I was refering more to Hidan no Aria and FoZ's descriptions of the girls.

You misunderstanding. He didn't say she was a good diplomat. He said she was a better diplomat than the others.

By any measure Fianna is the best, but she could not go with Kamito to meet Mira because she had to construct the stronghold. On top of that, with her 0 combat ability she would be a sitting duck the whole way to and back.


The reasoning was as follows:
Ellis is incapable of negotiation. She and her 100% honesty and chivalry make her unsuited for negotiating.

Rinslet with her air of pride and attitude with all those Desu no! And Desu wa! is more than likely to offend and break off negotiations before they get started.

Fianna can't go.

Claire is the best choice out of this otherwise pitiful group. She is usually fairly level headed and smart. And she is the team captain after all.

Intelligence and wisdom are different things. The girls are highly intelligent and skillful fighters among their peers. Unfortunately, the are quite naive. They simply don't have all the facts to apply their intelligence too.

Sadly, because they don't have all the facts straight they end up making dumb decisions. Though naiveity does not imply stupidity.

Actually she is, when it's serious and doesn't concern Kamito. Kamito could have just as well gone by himself, but traveling as a pair into a dangerous forest is more logical.

Nobody said she was good though, she is just better than the others who are terrible.

In the end, Kamito ends up striking the deal himself anyway.

I think it's possible that because she suffered prejudice and bullying, she would have to behave diplomatically to survive in a hostile environment. But, as we know, she's prone to anger when other students mocked her. She almost caused team scarlet to be penalised because she attempted to attack students who provoked her after her team won a match against theirs.
