A new manga by Kobayashi Jin (author/artist of School Rumble and Natsu no Arashi!)

Ichiro Heian! began serialization in Bessatsu Shounen Magazine's (a monthly magazine's) June 2011 release.

Genre: Comedy, romance

Judging from the first chapter, it seems like the main character is a shut-in with communication issues who inadvertently decides to accompany a Chinese-speaking foreigner on her way to Kyoto.

So the biking girl here is a Chinese foreigner?

From the first chapter he looks like an otaku, seems he's using lines from various game and anime manga to talk to the girl.

Just please don't let this series come to a crash-and-burn (or rather, abrupt) ending like his previous works... might as well take a look

I've read the 1st 2 CH's, so this whole series is based upon a journey? Would there be more story (plot) once they make to Kyoto? Or is this kinda like "Journey to the West" type of thing, where everything (interesting) is revolve around the travel?

I couldn't help but seeing Miao as Yakumo (School Rumble) but more violent!

So far, not impressed. Typical pretty but rough girl and complete loser MC. What I wouldn't give to have a MC who's you know... an average, normal, well-adjusted human being. It seems to be an impossible dream in manga. They're either losers are jerks.

I like the main characters =P and the manga it's funny, i really love Jin Kobayashi drawings , the female character it's a combination of Eri and Yakumo but more violent haha it's still likeable though, the plot i think that its better and stronger than Natsu no Arashi and gives some School Rumble feeling that at the same time.
I don't mind if the plot in general sucks, i know that JK will do a great job developing characters that will make me forget that there is a plot (i just hope that it doesn't end like certain manga).

Have read the first two chapters and must be honest, that i find it somewhat interesting. Miao Fu is clearly some mix of Yakumo and Eri from his previous work, School Rumble. She also looks like to strong like Yakumo.

Im glad to see, that Kobayashi Jin hasnt changed his drawing style, but maybe pimped it a little bit. I like it and cant wait for the next chapters to come out.

I think that i saw a Yakumo Cameo in one of those spoilers, so i would not be surprised if we see Harima or Eri...

Just saw the raws of 3 and 4. lol Yakumo cameo Jin couldn't let his masterpiece go.

Wow the scanlators are going to have a hard time scanlating this because of 2 dialects.

Damn! The 3rd chapter is brilliant.

I think you can enjoy this manga better, if you dont think of SR at all. Then you see Mao as a complete new and indipendent girl.

Not as well translated as it could be, if we go by inet forum standards : Picz or didn't happen. + after koumei's speech she should just say, tl;dr or smth <- this one's a joke

I heard this got cancelled from Magazine, that is very odd because Magazine is the least likely of the manga anthologies to cancel something, and Jin is a veteran with success while in Magazine. Plus a lot of other Magazine serials have ended or are ending (Negima, Air Gear).

I can only imagine this manga completely imploded sales-wise for them to be doing this. Anyone know something?
