Well, after having watched episode two... quite the fun episode. I'm still trying to get used to the art style of the series, but it really isn't half bad. I have to admit, I did enjoy the first half of the episode (do I need to state why?... and actually, for both reasons, if you know what I mean)
and then the ending... well, I'm torn between whether I like her or not after she gets back to normal. I usually like dere girls, but perhaps because for the rest of the time we've seen her I got used to her cold personality. Perhaps I'll fully swing towards her being dere if she is a repeating character (which some have hinted that she is) now to wait for 3...

I'd just like to say that this is by far my favorite anime of the season (which is full of decent shows), and one of my favorite anime in a long, long time. I watched the first episode half a dozen times, and the second three times, and I usually delete things after one watch. Can't wait for the next one.
...no, I don't really know why. |

I just want to say something about staplers.
It appears, from the OP in ep 1, that most of the characters would be related to an animal theme. And Hitagi's animal, obviously, was the Crab. Now, it is quite common for an anime-linked character's choice of weapon, to have symbolic meaning associated with the animal. In this anime, Hitagi was shown to carry a closet-full of office supplies, of various types, as her weapons of choice. But why did the OP song in ep 2, focus on the stapler? Sure, it was one of the two weapons you first see her use, but aren't scissors and letter-openers more convenient tools for inflicting injury? And then it hit me. The Stapler was symbolizing a crab's pincer. Hitagi's signature weapon is the stapler, because it symbolizes her animal totem. The stapler is the crab. The crab is the stapler. Man, this anime keeps bringing up new surprises...
