After reading I stand Alone, what did he summoned to destroy those ships? I'm very confused at that part.

If I remember what Iron said he essentially made a fusion canon through barrier manipulations getting the idea from star formation and Yukari Yakumo's border abilities.

Sucking up an orbital attack into a Window of Travel and sending it back to the source with a second Window of Travel sounds a bit more plausible.

Yukari Yakumo calls it "Ride the Wave, Fight the Ocean".

Who is this Yukari Yakumo person? Is he/she part of the sound stage? This person's ability is god-like, I hope that he/she doesn't overshadow the protagonists because of his/her abilities.

Ahh, the lady Yukari Yakumo, Youkai of Boundaries. Indeed, her power could be considered godlike, since she could easily just open a gap to from here to the moon, alter the border of the horizon, or manipulate the boundaries of sanity and madness. A whimsical, lazy, powerful, and quite easily bored lady.

Yuuno survived his own "Big-Bang Attack", but horrifyingly mutilated in process. Poor guy - all what he want tp prove himself to his friend and protect peoples. Thought his friend now really start to understand his importance, that`s good.

Commander or no she is just human, of course she'll cry on this. I had the same problem trying to equate StrikerS Hayate with Force Hayate, since the two of them had an immensely different presence. My thoughts would be that Hayate would probably cry, but rather than an outburst it would be the silent, self-blaming type served with fire.

Of course, that was only if the person she cared for was still alive, if he was dead then... Well I can't predict that.

Judging by how calmly Hayate react to having one of her beloved "children" near-killed, i think she's very good at concealing her emotions, enough to not let herself cry at least.

Well the situation was kinda urgent at that moment, what with the lead still hot and all, so she couldn't exactly go all tears and snot, and when there was eventually time to be sad Signum had already recovered anyway

Of course, it's not like being an officer is easy. Show the wrong face at the wrong time and morale will sunk and team confidence decrease. That's why when I read Hayate fics where she's all laugh and gropy I sometimes interpret them as her way to relieve stress.

Just a try at an idea.

Punches and kicks were exchanged between the two combatants in the air. One had blond hair and the other green. They were having a very intense fight and yet there were no hatred bewteen them. Instead, they looked happy and exicted as they exchanged blows after another.

After a strong clash of fists which pushed both of them back, they readied themselves once more and charged forward with the fists cocked in position to punch. It was thus a surprise for them when all of a sudden in the space in front of them was a white glow and when it faded emerged a teenager in black with red markings all over him. They were unabled to stop their punches and could only watch as their fists comes closer to the teen.

Taking a deep breath, the teen executed a full circle slash with his weapon that looked like a gun glued to a sword and the force that the slash exerted knocked them back even before the blade have hit them. Positioning the sword in front of him, the teen looked at the two of them with a strange expression that seemed to emote his surprise, puzzlement and amusement at the same time.

" I'm Touma Avenir, can someone tell me what is going on here?"

Though if Hayate's method of stress relief is all the laughing, teasing, and groping... I see Admiral Hayate channeling Happosai.

I wasn't really sure how I wanted her to react to Yuuno's state of being, but I figured something more like an outburst would work considering the sum of all events of the past day. If my current pace keeps ups, then I can have her do the silent, self-blaming rage tears elsewhere or in another story.

Also, before I forget. Tiresias, where'd you get your signature pic? Its cute.

Here's the first part in what may become its own multi-chapter story dealing with the aftermath of the incident. Spoiler for I Stand Alone - Aftermath: Barely a few hours had passed since Jail's failed assault on Mid-Childa. The man himself had not actually led the assault in person, rather it was an automated fail-safe set aside. Without his input after a certain amount of time, the system would activate and go about its pre-programmed directives. The, at the time, unknown providing assistance had been a major key in turning the battle around owing to the chaos created amongst the machines and prevention of a catastrophic surface impact. It had also been the prequel to one of the most fearsome displays of power from Commander Yagami Hayate. An uncharacteristic fury had gripped the woman as she gave new meaning to the term 'excessive force'. The incident had only lasted a day, but its immediate effects were plain to see. The fallout from the incident had been horrifying. Tens of thousands had been killed in the surprise attack, a significant number of them civilians. The TSAB had its fair share of losses in that number as well. The full loss of two VX-Class warships had dramatically increased the body count with the wounding of two others adding to that. Wounded had flooded the local hospitals and many emergency medical tents had to be set up to deal with the injured civilians. Search and rescue teams were running themselves into the ground trying to find anyone and everyone that they could, hopefully still alive. Many high power mages were kept on combat standby in the event of more enemy forces appearing, but none did. While that decision had been a tactically sound one, it also reduced the number of individuals available for search parties. It was one of these search parties that came upon the blast zone that had emitted the unexpected, but very welcome, burst of support fire. Amazingly, much of the museum itself remained intact, but many of the areas around the building were scorched black or melted beyond the point of recognition. The closer the team got to the epicenter of the blast, the more warped and destroyed the scenery became. There were even pools of molten stone and white-hot metal at some points further in. The light they emitted becoming more dull as they cooled in the light of the rising sun. Separating the museum and the ravaged grounds was a circle of only mildly damaged land. The scars from the machine's assault were present and there was a good deal of heat damage, but it did not share the same appearance as the hellish landscape around it. The team theorized that whatever had launched the attack against the machines had set up a barrier to protect themselves from the backlash, protecting the area from the worst of the blast as a side effect. Whatever survivors might exist would undoubtedly be inside. The rescue team needed their barrier jackets on full power just to move around in the intense residual heat. Inside of the museum, they did indeed find survivors, many still trembling in fear but mostly unharmed. A few mentioned how they had seen a glimpse of a blonde man teleport in with a little girl and a woman before vanishing. From there, the team split up to check the rest of the museum. One of the rescuers, a well known young woman of the Nakajima family went to the roof to investigate whether or not their mysterious assistant required assistance themselves. Practically flying out the main entrance and up to the roof on her Wing Road, Subaru found their benefactor. Her eyes widened as she laid eyes on the naked and burnt form. Only the faint rise and fall of the chest gave any indication of life. "This is Nakajima of Rescue Team Area 27, I need medical assistance at the rooftop of Central Mid-Childa Museum. Single adult subject in critical condition with severe burns." She barked into her communications device. Landing next to the figure, she noted that it was a male. Subaru took inventory of the man's injuries as she awaited the medical team's arrival. There wasn't much she could do for the man in his condition, but she would try nonetheless. As Subaru's, admittedly limited, healing magic did its best to reduce the pain that the man was in, she took stock of his condition. If it was their mysterious benefactor, then whatever he'd done had been at great personal cost. The skin on his arms was dark, cracked, and blistered, as though they'd been thrown into a furnace for a few seconds. The rest of him wasn't much better due to the angry red splotches of seared skin and blackened wounds cauterized by the heat. Dried blood was everywhere, but the occasional fresh stream would trickle from a wound or his nostrils. Bruises were everywhere. A chunk of what was likely formerly long hair had been scorched off. All in all, Subaru believed it a miracle that he man was still alive. A minute or so later, the medical team arrived and began emergency treatment so that the man could be transported to a proper facility. Subaru relayed her observations quickly and then left to continue her search, putting the fate of the man in more appropriate hands. When the order to stand down came, none was more relieved than Yagami Hayate. Ignoring the questioning looks that her comrades and friends were giving her, the young woman flew off so quickly that they had no chance to question her actions during the fight. They'd all certainly fought with everything they had. Nanoha and Fate certainly lived up to their monikers as they tore through the rampaging machines, but the duo had never before seen such anger in Hayate's motions before. The Wolkenritter, save Vita, shared that confusion. Vita had been the solitary person to hear that communication consisting of only one word. It didn't take a rocket scientist to link the hellish assault loosed on the falling battleships with that word. However he had done it, the Iron Hammer Knight knew that Yuuno Scrya had been the one who obliterated the three spacecraft. At what cost was something that bothered her. Signum shot a glance to her sister and comrade to which Vita shook her head, an indication she'd explain later. It was not something the General of Fire wanted to wait on, but would do so anyway. Once everything had calmed down, she hear it from the diminutive redhead one way or another. The Knights flew off to follow their mistress while Nanoha and Fate went to check on Vivio, who they'd heard had been saved by Vita and sent to a shelter. Their own questions about the events from earlier were put on the back burner as their daughter's safety came first. Hayate landed at the mobile command center that had been set up to deal with the influx of wounded that were being treated in the tents in addition to coordinating the rescue efforts. While the worst of it was over, the screams and wails of the victims could still be heard plain as day. Zwei remained held in Hayate's arms after canceling the Unison, her eyes closed in grief as tears ran down her cheeks. The scenes of devastation and her Mistress' anger had been too much for the Unison Device to handle all at once. The brunette offered calming words to the miniature woman, regardless of how empty they sounded to her own ears. A telepathic communication reached Hayate from her blond Knight. 'Hayate, I think you may want to be here. Its... Its Mr. Scrya' The cold hand of fear gripped Hayate's heart. 'I'm on my way, Shamal.' A part of her mind wondered why she wasn't being summoned to her investigations post, but banished it as she made haste towards the medical tent. Hayate's footsteps sounded hollow to her ears as she held the now sleeping Zwei in her arms. In her mind, she didn't want to process it. Less than a day ago she had been talking with Yuuno in a museum accompanied by an ecstatic Vivio, finally having dragged him from that prison he called a workplace. He'd confided his worries to her and she'd apologized for her part in crating such a situation. She pushed open the flap with her body, preparing herself for what she was about to see. Shamal's silence and grim face greeted her. The blonde Knight wordlessly took the sleeping Zwei and stepped aside to reveal the ravaged form of Yuuno Scrya. Though bandaged thoroughly, Hayate could tell that he was in horrible condition. "Oh gods no..." whispered the Mistress of the Book of the Night Sky. In the background, Hayate could faintly hear Shamal trying to explain the man's condition carefully as possible. Without turning to face her Knight, she asked the one question that had been burning at the back of her throat. "Will he pull through?" Shamal's silence was heavy, but the Knight answered her Mistress honestly. "Possibly. He's stable for now, but his injuries..." Signum and Vita entered the tent in time to see their beloved Mistress and family drop to her knees with a heart wrenching sob. Shamal's one free hand was outstretched to catch Hayate, but held nothing. The General of Fire and the Iron Hammer Knight were immediately at the brunette's side, wrapping their arms around the young woman. Hayate latched onto Vita's small frame as she sobbed, large tears flowing down her cheeks and expression twisted into sadness. "Shamal, what...?" Signum's question trailed off as the distraught looking blond pointed to the unconscious body attached to a multitude of devices. The pink haired woman's eyes widened as she recognized the name on the medical chart hanging off of the bed. Comprehension failed and she looked back to Shamal with a number of unasked questions on the tip of her tongue. Most prominently was the one demanding an explanation as to how. It was Vita who answered as Hayate's sobs began to give way for silent tears and trembling. "That huge blast from earlier. He did it. I don't know how, but he did and it saved our sorry asses." She did not turn to Signum as she placed a gloved hand on her mistress' head. There was a fierce look on the redhead's face, mixed with sadness and rage. For once, Signum didn't know quite what to do. "Did you contact the others?" Shamal shook her head. "I couldn't get through." The General frowned and kneeled next to Hayate to try and offer condolence. "He will pull through, Hayate. Scrya is a strong man." It proved to be the wrong thing to say. "But he's not strong!" Hayate nearly shouted between tears. "He's weak. So damned weak..." Her grip tightened on Vita's clothes. "...and we made him that way!" Shock was evident on Signum's face as she looked to Vita, who had tears of her own running down her face. Though the Iron Hammer Knight's expression never faltered. "Come on, lets go and let Shamal take care of Yuuno." Emotionally drained and exhausted, Hayate couldn't argue as her Knights gently stood her up. Signum held her mistress tightly as she walked her out of the tent, shooting a look to a grim faced Shamal who nodded in response. Vita paused at the tent's entrance, not willing to look at the battered form of Yuuno. "You'd better pull through, ferret. I won't forgive you if you die. You have some explaining to do." With that, the redhead ran out of the tent to catch up with her mistress and Signum. It was not long before the trio arrived home. Zafira was still out, aiding in search and rescue which meant that the house was dark and empty upon their arrival. While Signum and Vita wanted Hayate to get some rest, the brunette adamantly refused. Normally she would have wanted the rest of the group present, but Hayate felt that if she didn't explain herself soon, she'd explode. "Water..." She croaked before wiping her face off with a damp cloth. Signum provided a glass that Hayate took small sips from. "Thanks." The two present Knights sat at the family dinner table with Hayate at the head, both wondering just what had happened between their mistress and the librarian. There was a few minutes of silence before the dam broke. She told them everything. From her limited observations of Yuuno's health and disposition to what he'd confessed at the museum. By the time Hayate had finished, there were no tears, only anger and shame. They who claimed to be Yuuno's closest friends had done this to him. Made him into a fragile being whose only perceived state of being was something convenient to be used and cast aside when no longer useful. Like a lighter, it would provide fire whenever needed. Whenever the flint was struck, it would produce a flame that would burn just as brightly and just as hot as the last. The lighter didn't mind so long as it was useful to someone. But when the fuel ran out, it was tossed aside like so much trash. It didn't matter that you could refill it. No one cared enough to do so. They had just burned Yuuno's life away without a care. Whether or not they'd have a chance to give him life was in hands that did not belong to them. It was a feeling that made both Knights sick. They were having a very intense fight and yet there were no hatred bewteen them. Instead, they looked happy and exicted as they exchanged blows after another. After a strong clash of fists which pushed both of them back, they readied themselves once more and charged forward with the fists cocked in position to punch. It was thus a surprise for them when all of a sudden in the space in front of them was a white glow and when it faded emerged a teenager in black with red markings all over him. They were unabled to stop their punches and could only watch as their fists comes closer to the teen. Taking a deep breath, the teen executed a full circle slash with his weapon that looked like a gun glued to a sword and the force that the slash exerted knocked them back even before the blade have hit them. Positioning the sword in front of him, the teen looked at the two of them with a strange expression that seemed to emote his surprise, puzzlement and amusement at the same time. " I'm Touma Avenir, can someone tell me what is going on here?"

I wasn't really sure how I wanted her to react to Yuuno's state of being, but I figured something more like an outburst would work considering the sum of all events of the past day.
