I really don't know if I like or hate this.
On one hand, they are doing an anime adaptation of my favorite arc on my favorite series. On the other hand, they are eating so much of the original material that the scenes don't have the same impact and the lack of Fiore makes Keima a lot less badass than he is. |

Terrible episode, disappointing after a strong start to this season. It would have been possible to adapt things from the changes they made earlier and make something just as good as the original, but apparently they're too lazy to and all the impact of the scenes in this episode is gone. And while I can appreciate that they're removing some jokes to keep the pacing and amp up the tension, they removed one they really shouldn't have because it changes the meaning of the scene completely.

Knew that a lot was going to get cut but I'm still not as angry about it as I think I should be. I think that they did the Tsukiyo scene well and the Kanon part was just about what I was expecting when Fiore didn't appear so I was ready for it. So I was surprisingly good with this episode since they did pace the Tsukiyo scene rather well so they seem to know what parts that should be given time to at the very least.

Well after watching the episode I can now say.... The overreacting is continuing as usual. How many times must you be told that a scene by scene, line by line recreation of the manga is not going to be possible? The sooner you can get over this the sooner you can enjoy the remaining source material that is mostly intact.

Anime is similar to manga, but missing parts. The problem doesn't lie with line or scene omitting. From what I've seen so far, they've been giving us faithful adaption,
What's disappointing for me is that because of their need to adapt as much possible, they are not paying too much attention to making a scene. Some dramatic and comedic scenes feel a bit too forceful. Which is fine for now because they don't have as much time to give us a great scene adaption, yet (I am hoping). The first 2 seasons were great adaptions for me. We are almost half point, I am wishing the best to come. |

This was an awesome episode. I thought they covered a lot of material, and they covered it well. I really enjoyed this episode and was expecting praise when I entered this thread. Oh well. And yes, I'm anime only.
I didn't expect Keima to only need one goddess to lift the curse on Kanon. I thought he needed to find them all. Well, at least he is still trying to find them all, and I'm glad Kanon is no longer in imminent danger. In a way, I am hoping that they get all the conquering aspects done quickly so they can get to the meat of the story. I am looking forward to what they have in store.

So cheaaaaaaap. Seriously, I'm pretty loyal to adaptation. I like that the studio's animating TWGOK. However, this ep. was terrible. Scene change was not as well done as in previous episodes, and so everything felt forced. Except for Keima and Diana when she met Vulcan. And, maybe, Nora. Even my favorite Shiori was lacking.
I won't complain about lack of Keima&Vulcan team. It's sad, but can be omitted. I'll complain about the rooftop scene. QUALITY shots and lacking animation weakened the impact of the scene. I'm not moved by the scene. In fact, it was boring from the moment Keima left the library. Also, Haqua scene. She did suffer from the lack of Fiore, because she had no real reason to break down without Fiore's involvement. There was simply no build-up for that. The same goes to Diana, but she suffered from the lack of seventy-odd chapters' worth of material. Heck, only half of her lines makes sense in this adaptation. In the end, the scene was awkward as hell, and not touching. And Haqua's hide-and-seek made it even more lighthearted. I like this anime. I really, really like it. But fourth ep. is going to be the worst for me, as of now. It says something, if preview to next ep. was more natural than this ep., right...? |

why does anyone sound disappointed with this episode(I`m talking about manga readers here)? This statement is said by many users and people many times.
The episode is fair in my books and yet the only thing I miss the 'attempt'(Fiore is not there, so no scene)

Nah. I don't think the pacing seems forced in this one. And yet, it still going smoothly regardless, even though it's a bit rushed. As a manga reader, I'm still OK with it. Cause I try not to think about the manga while watching the episode.
