Well, at least we found out new stuff about Alibaba.
It certainly made things clear about how he got here.
Aladdin is really amazing and a true friend.
Kassim was bad news no matter how you look at it.
Sinbad certainly has a unique approach to resolving things.
Alibaba's brother, the king was as bad as expected, no surprise there.

Good episode, I didn't remember what happened anymore, so I felt like I was watching Magi as an anime only viewer...

And it really look like they'll end with Balbad arc...

It's not just friendship. Aladdin's a magi. He was created to mediate on human affairs, remember? Besides his king (Alibaba) is involved so the more reason he would feel compelled to help out.

On another note, the animation took a noticeable dive in this episode. It's a pity, this series deserves better production values.

I am not sure what story Morgianna is from, no doubt it's from 1001 nights. I mean, I can imagine some people not knowing about this. But the stories of Aladdin, Sindbad the Sailor, and Ali Baba and the 40 Thieves are each different stories from 1001 nights. Apparently, there are, in fact, 1001 stories in it. This anime makes me wish I knew more about them though. All I know is, they're all stories in an Arabic setting, and a lot of the stories share themes of kings, princesses, commoners, bandits, and hidden vaults full of magical treasures. Basically anything you need for good old-fashioned adventure stories.

The stories were told over 1001 nights there aren't 1001 stories.

I read them and nothing from Magi is bringing anything back. It is obviously a very loose adaption.

Edit: Actually there might have originally been 1001 stories but my version does not have that many. Also apparently some of the most famous stories: Aladdin, Ali Baba, & Sinbad's were added in by translators, not part of the original tales.

Tbh, I'd rather they take a dive now on the slower parts, and save their budget for some of the battle scenes later on in the arc.

Thanks to her cleverness, Alibaba managed to killed 40 thieves that trying to kill him for stealing their treasure. After that, Alibaba married Morgiana and they lived happily ever after

Hmm now I wonder if this Morgiana and Alibaba will wind up together.

On another note I am really enjoying Sakurai Takahiro's rendition of Jafar. I've heard him use this voice before but not for awhile and I really like it. It works well for Jafar's exasperation when dealing with Sinbad.

Actually via wiki Morgiana in that story marries Alibaba's son.

This Alibaba is a king so marrying Morgiana ain't happening imo. She would have to be a long lost princess to be in the running.

One thing is similar, Morgiana is badass in both magi and the original 1001 story.

Can't remember if magi was getting 1 or 2 cours, if its one, not sure if they could wrap up the Balbadd arc in time. If its 2 cours, seems to me at this rate it would have to go beyond the Balbadd arc.

Was a good episode, always did like this arc

After seeing Sinbad in action this week, I'm starting to understand how he was able to clear 7 dungeons. He's clearly no ordinary man. What Jafar said about him makes me really curious about his past. His life apparently hasn't been all rainbows and sunshine.

Alibaba's brother is a total douche, no surprises there. The situation won't be resolved peacefully.

Sinbad is such an awesome character! especially with how he switched side so easily, dealing tradition a blow. It seems whoever has Rukh surrounding him is a good person, and according to how the Rukh was there just before Cassim robbed the palace, we can guess he's a good person deep down too.
