If it's novel material I want KyoAni to animate, it would be Haruhi and Full Metal Panic. Let the guys at J.C do their job. Judging from what has happened so far in the anime, I would say they did quite the decent job with adding in anime-original scenes and scenarios.
Making a few characters seem different and doing different things might serve to make the anime into 'something different' from the original content, which can or might present itself in a different view in accordance with the viewers, especially those who have been following the novels, of which I remember it as being pretty hot in Japan. |

I quite like the different perspectives from both. It's expected that there's lots of action in the anime, and the manifestation of that from the novels is pretty entertaining to watch. The novels, on the other hand, describe the thoughts of a character, so I'm with you on this, Sterling01.

Well that's not really true. I think the more correct answer would be we have absolutely no idea what so ever
It all depends on the whim of the author, with the stuff that's currently going on in the novels, he could strech it out and keep it going for quite a while, or he could end it pretty quickly. |

Since I can't read japanese, I usually look to wikipedia for answers to questions I have about the novels. I know... not the best place to look but it's the easiest.
That being said, I read through the characters page to find out what's going on with who. There is a little sentence at the end of the character description of Shana and Yuji. I see a lot's been happening... Where am I going with this? Well, could someone post short summaries of the events in the novels? Just short summaries of major events. Even an outline would do. What do you get out of it? Nothing really. Just my eternal gratitude and the proud feeling you get for being of help those unable to read the language but would at least like to catch up with what's really going on. |

Don't know (no set release date), but it should be around March or April (or May).
There was a five month gap between 13 and 14, 6 month gap between 14-15, and a 3 month gap between 15-16... Talk about inconsistent. Heck, there was a one month gap between 3-4...

Ah, can anyone attest to the difficulty of the reading level in the novels? I currently have only a basic understanding of Japanese, and since I will probably have to wait several years for the current novels to be released in an official English translation, I'm wondering whether it will be quicker to learn Japanese than wait.

I'd say that Shakugan No Shana is quite hard to read, there are a lot of kanji that appear without the furigana and that it could get quite tedious and fustrating after a while - but if its incentive to learn Japanese then go for it!
