Nagi visits women's underwear clothes shop to put Hayate into trouble. Hayate thinks that Nagi can't help as she's not in the right size(as they have to buy underwear for Aika), but Nagi tells him that story will finish if he rejects. Anyways, Nagi's plan is to put him into a minor, but embarrassing trouble and then solve it for him.
Hayate asks what kind of underwear Nagi wears and Nagi calls him a pervert (of course, Hayate doesn't see Nagi as a girl). Nagi points at Hayate and asks the shop assistant to bring a sexy lingerie that suits him. When Hayate is given one, he gets embarrassed, saying that 'if I'm seen like this, my trustworthiness as a person will go down' and he sees Kyoubashi (the girl whom Hayate was talking to in the last chapter) in front of him. She runs away without words, blushing.
Meanwhile in Sanzenin Mansion, Maria is talking to Aika in school uniform. Aika goes away, saying that it's breezy under her school uniform, but it doesn't matter as she called her car. Maria doesn't understand of course (Aika didn't wear underwear). Hayate and Nagi arrives. Hayate thinks that Aika is still in bath, so he leaves the new underwear in the bath, saying 'I dunno if you will like it but... I would be glad if you wore it.'
But as you can expect, it's Maria who gets the underwear(which is... what do you call those kind of stuff. Thongs?). She wonders if she should wear them.

Yeah. Another random day. And too bad that we won't get to see Maria's face after hearing that it was actually for Aika.

Personally, I think that the chances are low. If you've looked at the last page of the scan, you can see it (Well, the one I had was cut halfway through so I have no idea what it said at the end).

Well, A-tan was introduced quite recently. So, I do not think her fandom is particularly large. Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if what the fans want is something related to Hina (since she hasn't received much focus recently).

I'm really interested on how will A-tan fare on the popularity contest. Depending on that, she may get more appearances (even if those are just flashbacks).

I kinda wonder how many votes A-tan got last time. In poll, sometimes minor character can get some votes.

I suppose, but she had only appeared in flashbacks. She wasn't only nameles, but faceless as well. There wasn't much about her. I think you can say she was in the manga ever since vol. 9, but at the same time, she wasn't.

There's a tourney called 'The Best Moe Character Tournament'. It's held once every year and everyone is supposed to vote on any anime character they like. It's a really huge tournament. There are two categories: 'men' and 'women'.

And Hinagiku ranked 3rd among women with 24230 votes this year.
Nagi ranked 5th with 16958 votes,
Maria ranked 21st with 8172 votes,
Sakuya ranked 45th with 3856 votes.

(seeing that more than 1900 characters participated, this is a pretty good result)

No, this year, I dunno the character who got to the first place, but he's from Code Geass. Hijikata from Gintama ranked second and Yagami Light from Death Note ranked third.

Hayate ranked 20 with 3134 votes.
Himegami ranked 191 this year.
Sanzenin Mikado ranked 610 with 90 votes...

I think Kotaro ranked pretty high, but I can't remember the number right now...

the reason Hina didn't rank first was because she already did so last year. those Korean fangirls had that anti-champion mentality that prevented her from topping again, methinks. nonetheless, as I said before, I'm extremely satisfied witht the results despite the odds being stocked against her. also, if you guys have been lurking in the General Anime forums, you'll also know that Hina also ranked third in Japan's moe contest.

On-topic, any approximation on when the results of the manga's 2nd popularity poll?
