Greetings.
Allow me to speak of a little, unusual question here. But I heard it somewhere that Islam has at least mentioned once in the novel, IIRC in a historical flashback on the crusade period when the muslims took a christian relic or something..... And I also heard that in Index-verse western magic is impotent against Islamic(Middle Eastern?) magic. However, the muslims have no meaningful capability to confront the west, so they basically sort-of ignoring each other. I'd like to confirm about whether those informations I got above are true or not, and basically I'd like to know whether the word "Islam" has ever been mentioned at all in TMnI, since I have this idea for an Index-fanfic where the Ottoman Caliphate still existing as one of the most prominent political giants in this alternative Index Universe. I'd like to have my fanfic's setting to be as convergent with canon as possible. Best Regards |

Other than that though, they haven't been really properly introduced into the To Aru-verse proper. But I don't see why you wouldn't be able to write that fanfic, it sounds like something that would fit

I'm guessing Islamic magic would have roots in the culture and the magic of other cultures before them, like the Greeks. Maybe even have a mathematical aspect to it, considering how the Christian world was in the Dark Ages compared to the vastly more intellectual Islamic empire.

What's so bad about Fiamma? Sure he tried to start a third world war and stuff, but half of the cast of this series would be willing to do something like that if they had the power to. (on the magic side at least.) Off topic note here-I noticed a while back and got reminded of it in a link someone posted here, that Touma's name, while it can still be thought of as "The one who is superior to God", can also be translated as "The invisible Daemon".
