Ermmm..isn't that Tosh is an hentai-artist who are responsible for drawing this manga? Or both of them are "Tosh"?

So, what is the correct response that Shinomiya should do in the past?

Blatantly rejected and kicked all the chefs who don't follow his order or listen to the constructive feedback from the chefs, evaluate by himself whether it is fine to add into his dishes then proceed? But of course, for those who are completely incompetent and stubborn and refuse to listen to the order, fire it?

Those guys arent chief, they are "aide de chef' as their name indicate, their sole point is to do the recipe because the chief doesnt have the time to cook for all the customers. They must not personnalise the recipe simply because they dont have the skill to do so, the difference between the chef and his helper is as big as the differences between me and the helpers ( knowing that for me cooking = microwaves).

That s like an orchest, only the leader has the right to change the music, if the members do ot it ruins the whole thing and become tasteless.

I believe trying to keep his restaurant going, firing the chefs who changed his recipe and his obsession for that medal led to a short-term thinking and once he attained that medal, he was at a lost of what to pursue.
Since the reviews were excellent, he didn't have a real reason to improve his dishes and with the lack of a goal, the motivation for innovation didn't exist, thus leading to stagnation.

The autor is simply doing what he did since the beginning : the world of cooking at high level is ruthless. You need years before imposing yourself and the autor explains it pretty well through the manga, off it s pretty embellished but the root is still here.

Any idea what "purusupooru" is supposed to stand for? Can't think of a french word or name that sounds close to it. Did they make this up?

quick search at google led me o Soma so probably made up?... only thing I know in the world of cooking is the Michelin stars

The only French competition with medals for French cuisine that i know is Bocuse d'Or named after the founder Paul Bocuse, but "purusupooru" doesn't resemble that except for maybe Paul for the "Pooru" part and i have not read the raws if it's actually spelled "purusupooru" in the original

Yes, it's spelled purusupooru in katakana (プルスポール). Googling it leads me to Shokugeki thread so it's obviously a made-up award, but I'd like to know what the word/name is supposed to be... Plus Paul? Pruce Paul?

As for the chapter content...

As Shinomiya drops the coin in Megumi's plate, he wipes his tears and asks her if she used allspice in her dish.
She did, but not simply to cover the flavoring of the chicken... but also because the spice improves digestion. Since the judges have been eating a lot of food for the tests the last two days, she thought to help them by using the spice.
Hinata bursts out in tears as well as Donato, lol.

Doujima tells Shinomiya how as imperfect as it may be, dietry of Megumi's food was thoughtful for the consumer, perhaps this is what is needed to advance Shinomiya's path? As Shinomiya thinks about how he neglected the voices of his staff and his customers, and have been making food all by himself, Hinata puts a coin in Megumi's plate. (She didn't have the judging coin so she put a regular 500yen coin ROFL)
As Hinata and Doujima says how the match is brought to a stalemate, Shinomiya walks away laughing at the what a joke this turned out to be... but calls Megumi a slow poke, and (in a very expected tsundere fashion lol) to survive the best you can, anyway a slowpoke like her can.

Doujima comments to Megumi how her greatest strength in cooking is the "hospitality" of her food, and she should focus on improving that skill. And the three coins on the plate is his sign of future investment into them. Megumi falls to the ground, crying in relief, as Soma smiles at her and congratulates her.

Sekimori and Doujima exchange words about Shinomiya's stagnation, and how he reached his goal too fast due to his skills, before he matured as a owner chef, which led to his stagnation. For a chef to improve, he must not isolate off everything... quite the opposite, they must seek to absorb everything instead.
Sekimori compliments the senior chef on saving not only one, but two chefs in one stone.

Soma and Megumi returns to outside.
Megumi gets a call from Yuuki, worried about them.. so she rushes back to their room.
But before she leaves, she thanks Soma for everything, and she will never forget his kindness. Once she's gone and Soma is alone, he punches a wall nearby with all his might. Although he wasn't the main chef, this was his first defeat, and his pride won't forgive himself. Doujima observes Soma and his lonely frustration, and thinks back on how he reminds him of Shinomiya's younger days.

Soma returns to the room, only to be greeted by crying Yuuki's bitch-slap. LOL
She then realizes he's not at fault, and goes crying to Ryoko.
Shun notices Soma's right hand is puffed up red, and asks him if he's ok.
(the sustained injury is possibly a roadblock for Soma's next challenge?)

Soma declares they're gonna spend the night playing hanafuda, much to Marui's despair (it's his room of course, lol) Then more of the dorm-mates arrive to crash the party.

End of chapter.


Predictable, but in a good way. Pretty much everything went exactly as I imagined it.
I knew Shinomiya was going to let them off the hook. The Allspice was a nice touch.

She's wearing Meat-Logo T shirt, short pants, and blushing thinking about Soma. Daaawwwwww
Takumi is also thinking about Soma, but with rival-ready-to-fight expression instead.
