This is the first adaption of a Yoko Taro game, yes? I can understand on the level of how popular they are but at the same time they'll have to be really careful to get this right...although it probably helps that Taro is supervising it himself

A1? They could barely finish the second cour of 86 last year and there were a couple episodes of it where non-battle scenes are static power-point-esque where they even hid characters's faces in many instances coz they couldn't animate the mouthflaps.

Still the direction and care put into the adaption as a whole was pretty stellar, so I'd say with a properly paced out production schedule and a good staff they would be able to deliver.

I hope they'll interview Yoko Tarou to promote the anime. They'll say fans don't have to worry since he's supervising it, and he'll reply "the only thing I've done is take my check to the bank though".

So are they going to adapt all 5 playthroughs? Also, I don't get the timing - there's merch galore, game has been out for a long while, Replicant is also out. What's the payoff?

It should be pretty easy to merge everything. A and B are basically the same thing, you're just playing a different character. And C is the continuation of A and B. They'll of course go for ending E.

Again, the timing seems weird. Someone gifted me it at Christmas since it was 20 dollars on Steam. What is the payoff for adapting it now, given how long it's been out and that Replicant is also out?

I wish they chose to adapt an original story and cast instead. Or maybe even a side story with pre-established side characters. I have extremely low expectations for this.

They could just adapt that manga with YoRHa androids where 2B is still a newbie.

I'm really on the fence about this but I like the prospect of new Nier music so I don't know. As long as Emi Evans is involved anyway.
