When tjalorak mentioned Kokushi-Musou, I counted Saki's discards and it looks like there are 7 (Kana had 8th when she throwed away Suanko), which is exactly number of tiles what she need to change, coincidence? Maybe
Personally I prefer to already finish it, because it's way too looong and if author decide to prolong it again by some bonus rounds anime will cover it first Btw what exactly means 13 sided wait in case of Kokushi-Musou? To have all terminals/dragons/winds prepared and waiting for pair?

First, I think it would be funny for Saki to win with a hand that her sister has won with before. That would really start the rumor mill running. Second, hey, this time she'd actually take the ron instead of as in an earlier chapter when she let Yuki win instead of taking a 9 pin. Character growth! Playing for fun means no mercy in mahjong! Nodoka would be happy anyway.

Teru won with Kokushi-Musou? Interesting ...
Where was it mentioned? Can not remember it. Anyway about rumour mill, it's already spinning high-spead and I expect question about her relation to Teru will be one of the first in interview.

wah..that kana even destroy her tsumo just to take koromo down with her. it will be funny if koromo throw that 1 ball(I mean pin, we usually call it "ball" when we play mahjong, fun purpose) and then 3 people win at the same time .
@tjalorak I thought "scooping the moon out of sea" is chinese mahjong only~~. |

I'm also waiting when the reporters (and everyone else) gets to know that Saki is Teru's younger sister. That will be a major shock for everyone. Last edited by emauser; 2009-07-17 at 05:08. Reason: grammar check |

Right now I'm fan of Kokushi-Musou possibility discussed above, because it will be real appropriate conclusion of finals which makes Saki stand out of bunch Anyway, we will see in 3 weeks ...

Somehow I want the author going against all conventions and having someone apart from Saki winning. I just hate it when the conclusion is so foreseeable, yet you don't want it to happen. -_-

I wonder if the manga-ka is going to cover the individual tournaments too.

unfortunately Saki mangaka limited possibilities to zero almost from the start - Teru is 3rd year - Nodoko will be forced to leave school - Hisa is 3rd year too if they loose, manga is finished, because all story driving points are wasted. Don't think so, we can presume team tournament is main event, so team finals will be last match of the day. Maybe some flashbacks, but what is point of that, story should move on.

I'm still a bit confused about the scoring on Saki's tsumo after 3 kans. Did she get the 2,000/24,000 points shown in ch49 or 8000 points from everyone in ch48? Also, what yakus did she have for that hand?
So far no one knows about the relationship between Saki and Teru besides Nodoka right? I would assume that Hisa might know, and also Fujita. I am also guessing that Mihoko (whatever the name of the captain from Kazakoshi) suspect it, and also Koromo. I am also guessing that Koromo played against and lost to Teru once before. At this point (up to chapter 51), are the reportors still doubting any relationships between the two? I cannot read Japanese well, so I have no idea what the reportors are talking about. Also, Fujita mentioned in previous episode that there had been 3 breakout players in previous years, and 3 siluhuttes. One being Teru, the other being Koromo. Who was the other one? |
