And Funnik plays way too good a Dark Seer. He almost always gets a 13 min Mek.

Also, the new patch will probably pave the way for new heroes to be picked. I'm so sick of seeing the same damn heroes getting picked ALL the time.

Moba is Multiplayer Online Battle Arena, the game category for Aeon of Strife, DotA, and all their later influences. There's been dozens of clones in asia and many clones in Starcraft 2 custom maps. They don't want to identify themselves as Dota, so they call themselves a MOBA game.

I haven't got to try Abaddon. His base stats and skills seem pretty low to be anything else aside from support (I was hoping for a massive hp pool > treant). Is he a hard carry for non-support roles?

Would you feel scepter should boost ult to 8s instead of 7s? I feel +2s duration bonus seems low for scepter bonus compared to what it does for other heroes.

He's mainly a support, though he can sort of run as a semi carry with sufficient farm. His main ability is not his ult, but Aphotic Shield. If you read its description it dispels all debuffs from the target ally. That means it dispels Batrider's ult, all of Bane's stuff, and a lot of annoying stuff out there they might be targetting your allies with. People on other forums have been describing him as one of the best counters to debuff heroes.

Abbadon can be played as 3 or 1. His ult gives him amazing survivability during team fights and his slow + buff + shield purge gives him amazing scaling ability.

He does need a lot of farm to be a 1, though.

Remember, his ult doesn't only stop all dmg, it HEALS him. Effectively he has 1.7times HP bar. And you can't leave him alone in a team fight.

And yes, Apothic shield is godly.

EDIT: Just imagine a str hero with DK's dmg (medium) + armlet + 40 aspd on top of armlet + 30% slow on your enemy + 1 self purge + 1 extra purge.

His lack of hard CC can be fixed with an AB (like Naix). Which is why he needs a lot of farm.

In short, he's better as a 3.

My pc got busted and I stopped playing for about two weeks and abbadon getting released is a very nice update (still waiting for terrorblade or legion commander though) I remember my dota 1 days just give him vlad or sny and he can pawn most int, agi heroes. Does he have the same skillset? or the gave him new abilities?

nothing has changed abbadon. Only frostmourn is renamed to curse of Avernus due the obvious copyright.

As a 3? I can see him being the farming hero in a hard lane 2-1-2 scenario, but given the current meta of running trilanes everywhere and how item independent he can be it'd seem he's better suited as a 4, similar to a support Omniknight. His stats growth is pretty decent but he needs way too much farm to be relevant, unlike almost all other STR carries which can perfectly work during the midgame.

If you run a DK mid + your 1 at safe lane, you can run him at 3 on offlane 2-1-2. 4 also works but he's far better with a bkb+ mana boots to spam shield during engagements. Being 4 doesn't give u enough farm for that imo. Also, with LoA offlane u actually have a good chance of winning the lane, since DK mid can at best tie the lane.

Armlet, drums, and AB. His Death Coil also triggers his slow, so drums is sort of optional. BKB if enemy has CCs.

Thing is, that's not cheap. Unless u r hard carry farmer, or having an insanely good game, LoA is better off as a 3. Get BKB, spam shield on your carry/support.

MoM, armlet and soul ring is carry abaddon and bkb, not only does he attack godly fast with the passive+MoM but he got armlet for damage.

And bkb makes it practically invulnerable with his ult,

Navi put on a show in the group stage. Except for those two losses to Fnatic, they absolutely crushed every other team.

I'm a bit pissed at the casters though. They fanboy Dendi waaaay too much. I mean, Funnik, Puppey and Kuroky play almost flawlessly every match and set up the stage for Dendi. Funnik especially never gets the praise he deserves. Also, Xboct seems to have found a way to not die while diving heroes left, right and center
