The jokster idea is plausible, every organization needs its "cloud-coo-coo-lander." I doubt it's Kaidou though, if Moria had been defeated by someone like that I think he'd have more of a grudge if he came against a similar adversary(Luffy in this case). |

If the last enemy is going to be something like The Pirate King and Whitebeard situation... Blackbeard wouldn't fight the bill... Whitebeard is about honor and morals... something Blackbeard completely lacks... I think one of the Supernovas or a character yet to be introduced will be Luffy's last enemy Doubt it. I think Shanks will retire if Luffy become a Yonkou... When he was talking to Whitebeard about his missing arm... He said he "made a bet on the New Era" or something like that... So I think Shanks has high hopes for Luffy.. So Shanks can't be his enemy |

Strangely, I would like to see a Shanks Luffy duel happen, however unlikely it may seems (I am sure it will be cool). Personal desire aside, I am sure Shanks is going to help Luffy hold down one of the big players in the New World.
Can't help but wonder how is the relationship between the Yonkou exactly. |

^We haven't even seen Whitebeard's entire crew yet, so I think it's too soon to say that his whole crew is full of young blood. Furthermore, we don't even know if guys like Marco and Jozu are actually that young (for all we know, either of those guys could be older than Shanks). We definitely know that Blackbeard (who was a former Whitebeard pirate) was a bit ahead in years, since Ace comments that he's lived twice as long as him.....

Pardon the double-post, but I thought it appropriate to bump this thread in light of the fact that the latest chapter introduces us to a number of pirate captains from the New World (though only half of the ones shown were actually named). Even more interesting is that all these people are allies of Whitebeard, which goes to show just how overwhelming his influence is. Now we'll finally see just what New World veterans are capable of! As I said in the 551 thread, "Thunder Lord" Makugai and "Bohemian Knight" Doma are the captains who caught my interestt he most. There's also some old woman who resembles Lola amongst the captains (so she may be Lola's mother, who was said to be a great pirate of the New World). And of course, there's also the chance that we may see other Yonkou aside from Whitebeard make an appearance in this war (most likely Kaidou, since he already attempted to attack Newgate before he could reach Marineford)......

I'm a bit confused as to why Aokiji, Akainu and Kizaru (i.e. the Admirals), the rest of hte Marines and the Shichibukai seemed unaware as to what WB was capable of. I mean, it would seem logical to me to inform your Navy and allies as to what exactly your facing in advance, especially when you are facing the World's Strongest Man. Guess Sengoku thinks differently heh.

Did anybody understand what was happening between Kaidou and Shanks? It said something about how Kaidou was headed towards Whitebeard, but Shanks intercepted him, and the Marine commented that a fight between two Yonkou is barely something they could deal with at that time. What was Kaidou's initial intention and why would Shanks stop him?

Kaidou was about to attack Whitebeard from behind. But Shanks intercepted him and their battle ended in a stalemate. The World Government was worried what the battle between the may have led to. Who the hell would think that? |

Well, when you think about it, he actually does. The strongest pirate vs. the world government. If Luffy wasn't the main character, and him being Pirate King wasn't the main goal. This would be a perfect setting to end the manga. |

Well, I mean, there's still the whole second half of the Grand Line. Not to mention the Straw Hats haven't even gotten to Merman Island yet. And there are a lot of odds and ends that still need tying up. While it's possible to bring Dragon into it, he's another thing missing.

oda can just end it with... The journey continues... he doesn't actually have to finish it for One piece to end. Plenty of mangas end abruptly. Doubt one piece will be one of them since its such a $$ maker and so popular
or he can just kill off luffy in this war... |

What sort of shit ass story is that? Btw, someone mentioned this on AP and I found it interesting as it isn't so obvious (well I missed it despite being relatively familiar with Greek mythology), but there seem to be quite a number of parallels between Whitebeard and Poseidon (Greek God of the Sea). Quoting his post: Quote:
