I am pretty certain that had I not read the manga and known it was coming, the ending of this episode would have made me literally jump out of my seat. It was pretty shocking even with no animation or sound.

Nice ending. And yes, Colossal Titan is a complete mystery.

Mikasa totally made me laugh when she put the blame on Sasha.

And shot through the leg! Wow!

Also, did anyone notice the action in the preview for the next episode where the soldier was swatted out of the sky by a rather quick thinking Titan? Whoa!

Somehow the above scenes kinda of remind me the mosquitos were human and I am the the titan spatting on those annoying flying insect. ^^

Okay, the first time I didn't really see the connection between the lightning and the Colossal Titan, but looking at it now it's like the thing came down from the sky. There was no quake, nothing, just BAM, he's in your face.

I love how proud Eren was standing on the wall thinking about humanity's counterattack and then you-know-what appears out of nowhere. Next episode's gonna be badass.

Good episode, I enjoyed the pacing although the training backstory was a bit boring. I thought the art quality was great -- not episode 1 but I wouldn't expect it for the last couple episodes. I'm okay with them saving budget for the more eventful scenes.

Things finally heat up next episode.

Seriously? I haven't read the manga, but I had a very strong feeling something like that was going to happen - this seems like the sort of series where the light at the end of the tunnel is usually an oncoming train. All Eren's waxing poetic about hope and rebirth couldn't possibly have been a bigger death flag for optimism.

The colossal titan literally came out of thin air, just like 5 years ago, But this time right in front of Eren. One hell of a cliffhanger till next week and the remaining set of scenes from the PV.

About the rest of the episode, pretty normal stuff but lots of nice new music (training insert song, graduation scene). Sawano delivers yet another amazing OST.

Well, it wasn't so much not seeing something coming after a line like that; more like shock at how something so damn big can just be right THERE so damn fast.

Or, moral of the story: You know you're screwed when your character design is a scrawny version of another character that's gotten a lot more screen time.
