I doubt the frame rate will be better on the Wii U. (fake) HD tends to drag those down. It's the Wii version that you should expect good frame rate from.

I would hope the frame rate is better for the Wii U version. Otherwise, they did a lazy port.

So if the Wii version has a frame rate of 60 you'd be disappointed the Wii U version didn't have at least 70 FPS? You wrongly assume that the Wii has a worse frame rate by default. The Wii is not a weak system despite not outputting HD.

So this is going to be a Wii/U exclusive then, no 360 or PS3?

Of course not. Dragon Quest games are always exclusive to one platform, and that's the platform with the largest installed user base.

Did you see the trailer? When it showed a party going out fighting monsters, it wasn't even 30 FPS...

I don't think a trailer is representative of a finished game's frame rate.

More news, since game is going to launch soonish, in a couple of months.
Since we are all kids, kids can play free online, during certain hours. That was reported pretty early on, but now the first details, read more over on andriasang.com

A small excerpt for the lazy ones who don't want to click on the link

Square Enix is going by the honor system for this Kids Time play period. There's no specific age restriction for Kids Time. Players are asked to understand that the free time period is meant for children.
And some details on the battle system, read more on andriasang.com
Small summary: battle is command based, but you can move your character around freely

Game is out in japan. Before anyone blindly imports it, I heard something about IPs being banned, so be careful and do some research in it first.

Tinycartridge has an (funny ?) article on their page
http://tinycartridge.com/post/285157...qx-launch-line
I have to say poor guy and why the hell didn't anyone else dressed up!

SE doubles server capacity, basically they are adding 20 more servers to meet the current demand.
But Wii and subscription based MMO can be a success? Too early to tell, but it looks far more popular to MHG and MHTri, which was also subscription based in japan.
BTW SE has indeed blocked foreign IPs, so you will need a (paid) vpn to be able to play the online part of the game.

Details for the WiiU version will be announced during this years TGS, read more on andriasang.com
If this game makes in during the WiiU launch window, no doubt WiiU will establish itself in the japanese market.

IIRC the Wii version sold around 400K-500K, at the time being, not bad for a console mmorpg, with turn based combat.

PC version announced by SE!
You can get the benchmark over on the official webpage: http://hiroba.dqx.jp/sc/ (click on the windows logo)
After running the benchmark program you can sign up to the beta! The servers will be shared with the Wii and WiiU versions, so you can basically carrying playing your character. However the game might be IP clocked to japan, like the Wii and WiiU version, unconfirmed yet.
Or you can directly signup for the beta, http://hiroba.dqx.jp/sc/windowsb/ .
Game can be played with km+mouse or a gamepad.
I cannot change the title of this thread, so if a mod reads this, please change it, to include the PC version.

BTW it looks like in japan there seems to be a DualShock like controller for PC, that is commonly used by gamers, I have seen it during PSO2 broadcast. It looks like a DS, but isn't. If anyone who lives in japan know what it is it would be nice if they can post it here. (please don't post motioninjoy or official sony Sixaxis/DS3 SDK drivers for windows)
