Nooooooooooooooo it's a cliffhanger chapter.....

A monthly series that uses cliffhanger endings, it's like the devils whisper...

Great chapter though, good pace. I would have liked it more if Gyokuro had a better build up but alas. Also Kahlua actually dying could turn out to be a good motivation for Kokoa to really fight against all this senseless violence/killing.
Do hope we won't see another long fighting arc though. We could use some peaceful school times about now and a bit more focus on humor and ecchiness. Just to take the edge of the darker tone.
I hope to see some psychological side effects of all the tragedies they witnessed, would make the story more human.

A more peaceful school time or moment ... all depends on the way this arc is going to end, and considering the fact that ... so far, everything has been proceeding along with the Masked King's plans ... the possibility of that "peaceful" moment ... appearing ... has been unfortunately delayed.

After all, I doubt that the Masked King appeared before Tsukune, Moka and the rest of the group , just to "talk" with them ... he certainly has some goal to achieve ... and whatever it is ... probably won't be something that Tsukune, Moka and the rest of the gang ... would agree with.

In other words ... there is a quite huge possibility of something bad happening in the next chapter, which is most likely ... lengthen the duration of the current arc along with reducing the chances of Tsukune and the rest of the group ... having some peaceful moments in school - after all, if a war between humans and ayashi would actually "start" due to the Masked King's current actions ... then I certainly think that seeing Tsukune and the rest of the group "comfortably" living their lives at the Youkai Academy, would fell a little awkward ... not to mention, be a little out of character, for most of the main characters.

I think so. She's going to have a "Heroic BSOD" moment first though, as the bond between her and Kahlua seemed stronger than it was let on.

I suppose that it depends if The Masked King is a "Even evil has standards" type of villain. He might take no satisfaction from defeating foes that are already both physically and emotionally tired. That said, if he hates Fuhai so much, it was probably just a bonus to smack him in the chops while he wasn't looking!

Hmmm, who could the Masked King really be? I don't think it'll be Issa, unless he's turned up to troll everyone....

That was a quick wrap up. At least it all fits into place, doesn't feel like it came out of no where.

I wish the Moka's had been merged though... that would have been really nice. Silver hair with pink highlights, haha.

As for the end, I really hate when a super strong good guy get's whacked like that. Come onnnn.

Think about it- in the first season, we only saw one character actually die, and that was the Outcast who Tsukune first went berserk against. If Ikeda really didn't care too much about what characters died, then the other person who should've been dead by now is Hokuto... but of course, Tsukune got a little too attached to him (being the only other original human that we know of) and he therefore got to live. As for Outer coming back... well, I believe it's been stated by Ikeda himself that Tsukune loves both sides equally. If Outer were to disappear permanently, Tsukune would be devastated... and don't forget Inner would be devastated as well, which may have something to do with why Outer reappeared. However, one of two things is now possible- Outer is only back for a few more chapters, or it's in the same category as Tsukune managing to regain control despite almost breaking (i.e. about a step short of an asspull) __________________ Gifted...or Cursed? As for Issa, I KNEW something was up but I never expected a doppleganger, but if you really think about it the real Issa would of put up a tougher fight. So the question is, where is he? As for the Masked King, he is indeed very lethal and cunning, but what I want to know is, what is his relationship with Tsukune, why did he take such shine to him. __________________

And FongFong stated that tsukune's name has became quite well-known in the underground... so it sounds like the Masked King may have known about Tsukune being originally human. Also, I wouldn't be entirely surprised if this guy actually turns out to be Issa (not saying that I'd like it, just that I wouldn't be surprised). The reasoning behind this is that we already know pre-Alucard incident, Issa was a high-ranking member among the vampires. I believe vampires admire strength, so Issa would have to be very powerful. So imagine this: Alucard awakens, Akasha is lost and the Shuzen family ruined... this forces Issa to go into hiding/underground. Fast forward, and the Masked King is making comments about Tsukune's developments... we know Issa wanted peace much like Akasha, and Tsukune is the link between humans and youkai at this point that isn't under Alucard's control. So, Tsukune being extremely powerful at this point, plus the only human-youkai fusion that's still sane even after Alucard has awoken... well, that's my theory. __________________ Gifted...or Cursed? But I don't think Akasha will appear in this chapter after Touhou said something about Akasha merging with Alucard according to the short translation. I think they're going to find a way to get her out but it won't be of her power. Who I do think will star in the next chapter will be: Kiria, Hokuto, and probably Akua. Why? Because they have not explained what happened to Akua or what happened to Kiria or Hokuto yet.
