I like the beginning and the riff of Singing, but the melody isn't as catchy or memorable as previous endings, and seems a little too generic jpop-y...but it'll probably grow on me. I do like the garage band production.

You've already heard this in the movie trailer before. Preview of the K-On! movie "theme song", Unmei♪wa♪Endless!

Faster = better. I'm loving this song already (though the ED isn't bad either).

Can't wait to hear the full version of both songs.

More news on the movie:

- Unlike the second half of the 2nd season, the protagonist of this movie is Yui.

- Director Yamada said that in this movie we'll see a new side to Yui that we haven't seen in the TV series, and that we may have a new opinion of her at the end.

- Mio will be able to show her cool side again.

- The OP "Ichiban Ippai" is of course, sung from Yui's perspective.

- The movie ED "Singing" is intended to be the Ending theme of the K-On! series.

I'm interested as to what this statement insinuates... Then again, it would be silly to expect a new adaption of K-On! for several years at least.

What is the general opinion of Yui (particularly in Japan) anyway?

OP CD jacket is on display.

I don't think the ED jacket will come out for a while, as it'll spoil whatever costume they're wearing. If they're really smart, they would release a music video for "Singing!" before it goes on sale. Kyoani animating a music video...(drools)

Sure is quiet in this forum these days...

One piece of news:

- The K-On! movie's run length is 1hr 50min. The consensus on 2ch is that its quite a good length. Not too long(the Haruhi movie came to mind for some), not too short. We also know from before that approximately 10 minutes will be spent bringing viewers who had never seen the TV series up to speed, so that makes around 100 minutes of action content.

This length is just a bit shorter than the average Ghibli movie, and a bit longer than most contemporary Disney childrens movie like High School Musical, Camp Rock, Hannah Montana, etc. It should be more than enough time to tell a good story that allows viewers to be immersed. My hope is that the movie will return to the faster tempo of the first TV season since it is running on limited time(110 minutes can run approximately five K-On! TV episodes). The second season had 26 episodes to work with, and so the pacing was appropriately slower. But this is a movie, running with a higher budget. I want to see some fireworks! Just two more weeks until it starts airing nationwide, and I can't wait to see some screenshots and hear the impressions from those who managed to fly all the way to Japan to watch it.

I hope the there won't be too much scenes in their school except for the first 10 minutes~ Hopefully we could get a Haruhi-like performance scenes (God Knows concert).

And by next month, it would be difficult to keep my eyes and ears closed for spoilers

This piece is from a while ago, but nobody posted this so...

- A recent survey result in Japan indicated that K-On! is very popular right now among female junior-high school students and elementary school students. Chances are high these demographics will make up a part of the people who'd go watch the movie. And with the little kids also comes their parents.

- What does this mean? It means that people are hypothesizing that the K-On! movie may not be considered an anime movie(think Akira, Ghost in the Shell, The Girl who Leapt through Time, Disappearance, etc) anymore, but a family movie(think the Ghibli movies, Doraemon, Crayon Shin-chan, Detective Conan, etc).

I'll always be one to hate the Japanese "normal" people's typical mentality of "It's good and popular with kids and families, so there's no way it could possibly be *gasp* ANIME, therefore it's fine for me to watch!"

That is the most absurd rumor I've ever heard. I would launch an all out Jihad on KyoAni if this ever happened.

As if there aren't any other animators who can do that style.

Unless the character design changes drastically, I wouldn't worry about it too much.
