Thanks for the additional episode titles. Maybe Marika is working on expanding her harem some more. I have a few ideas about who she could be looking into recruiting though(as crew or allies or whatever). And I am sure that we'll eventually get an anime original beach episode. Looking forward to Marika, Chiaki and Jenny in gorgorous swimwear. Mami could surprise us with what kind of swimsuit she chooses to wear though. It will be interesting to see who if anybody wears the school swimsuit.

Oh yes, that was what I was hoping to see. The subtext of that scene sounds almost what the subtitles of that picture says. And may we see more "space yuri" moments. My goggles are almost always ready after all.

Finally caught up with eps 8 and 9 ... and my response?

It's interesting though - although I think this is one of the best shows of the season at present, hands down, it is not one I eagerly anticipate (like grabbing the first subbed version when it becomes available, for example) ... I do that with two other series, although I think they are not as good. Strange, eh? But that's how it is. (Natsume Yuuchinjou Shi falls into the same category for me, curiously - imo the best show of the season but not one I "scamper after".)

In any event eps 8 and 9 were really excellent and continue the slow, careful paced story building. I love it!

7/10 vote for ep 8 and 7.5/10 vote for ep 9 from me.

They have all 26 episodes to make use of, so I guess the pace is kinda forgivable. Like Star Trek!

Yet, sometimes, the 26-episode formate is susceptible to the... build up slow - then - rush the freakin' ending... pattern. Just hope things don't go that way.

So far, it looks like they're sticking to 6 episodes equals 1 novel pace. If they continue with the third novel and don't add any anime original stuff after Episode 12, then they'll be going into the anime original stuff in Episode 19. Which would then mean eight episodes of anime original content(if they don't plan on touching the fourth novel at all).

This is the first thing I've seen that Sato has directed so I don't have any reference as far as Stellvia or Nadesico as far as pacing goes.

And of course, knowing that more pirate adventures await in a little more than 12 hours from now has me eager with anticipation. It's hard to wait for Chiaki in a pirate uniform(although I hope to see my waifu Jenny again soon).
