Hagoromo Gitsune's host body is still human. Considering you read the manga I think you should know that

Spoiler for Gitsune:

Yeah, that part of the manga as unnecessarily convoluted

Well I guess that's where the problem is then since I never read the official volume, never mind knowing there are extra info on there.

I have always thought that Gitsune was 'her', who just reverted to child form with memory erased.

Suprised that Kiyojuji actually got scared instead of being excited.
Nice episode, liked Yura's and Tsurara's double attack.

Rikuo back home. The "greetings" were funny ^^'
The battle ships were a nice surprise, so cool!
Yura/Yuuki Onna saves the day ^^ those guys sure know how to pick the wrong time to go sightseeing in Kyoto. Akifusa turned into a yokai, possessed? Ryuuji is pretty cool ^^

This episode reminds me why I dislike Kiyotsugu so much. How many times does that guy have to nearly get his friends killed by his stupidity before he gets a clue? It seemed like he somewhat got it this time, but really the guy wanders into danger like he's going to a petting zoo. While it'd never happen don't think it'd be a tragedy if he got himself killed during the series. Keep a lot of people out of danger that way.

A nice combo attack though with Yura and Tsurara. Still this is a really bad situation for Yura. They were already outnumbered and out gunned before and now some of their top guys are either incapacitated or outright traitors. Not sure if Akifusa was just corrupted by his own power or whether there was some pushing involved from outside. Either way he's clearly going to be no help to the clan right now.

Rikuo needs to get his guys on the boat and get moving. They are running out of time.

That's a cool CGI airship and all, but Nurarihyon and the Shikoku Head just took the Shinkansen. The drink cart girls are cuter.

That's why he's already a shriveled old man even though the old members of his hyakki yakkou (Gyuki, Hitotsume, etc...) still look the same.
Derp that would explain why grandpa nura is so old looking while everyone else is the same. Thanks for that piece of information (though how come princess Yo couldn't "create" a heart for him with her healing powers :X, that's why I assumed he had a Heart and was fine again. I mean doesn't he need a heart to move properly/live in the first place? Still a bit confused by that.

p.s. - i think the anime will probably still reveal this fact at some point later since this seems to be a pretty impt piece of info. I'm guessing that grandpa nura will have a chance to meet with Hidemoto and it'll get brought up at that point. I wonder if Hideomoto will also accidentally confuse little nura for grandpa nura at first.

Haha poor Yura firing smokescreens rather than getting to finish the battle. Of course Hidemoto is right that this isn't a fight they can win and that it's best to retreat for now. I'm sure he's counting on Nurarihyon to show up eventually to fight and that will be their moment. Rikuo might not be his grandfather, but obviously he'll have to finish the fight in the end.

As expected Tono and the Nura clan have some issues to work out here. Just shows how the loss of Rikuo's father really hurt the clan's strength. Until these groups get some respect for each other it'll be dangerous. Though think Tono is wrong about why Rikuo hadn't learned that stuff yet. It didn't help that for a long while he wanted to live as a human so he wouldn't be interested in any of that. Then it comes down to a fear that if he does gain that level of strength he'll do something crazy like trying to hunt down Gitsune. Sure she apparently killed his father with a sneak attack, but her strength isn't anything to laugh about.

So that's how Akifusa went down. As expected those three weren't remotely a match for the shear number and strength of Gitsune's forces. Good move by Yura using Hagun. At least they've recovered those three guys and can regroup.

Akifusa still consumed by yokai. Ryuji couldn't save him no matter how hard he tried.
Some historical info behind those helped to understand this more. Akifusa sure had an inferior complex, no wonder he got consumed by darkness.
Yura can now use Hagun. Maybe she'll be the one to defeat that ayakashi girl.
Nura is totally late to Kyoto & his bunch is not getting too well along..
Really nice action scenes in this episode!

So from what I gather at the end of episode 10 is that the Nura clan Yokai who have shared sake with Rikuo are actually much stronger than previously have been shown? Meaning, during the last battle with Tamazuki's yokai, they were holding back? If that is the case, then it means they were more powerful than Rikuo at the time, but they let him do battle with the big, bad boss.

It just does not make sense. Why would they hold back, putting Rikuo's life in danger? I really do hope they explain why the Nura clan was holding back on their powers.

They didn't struggle with them that much (at least not in Manga... don't remember how it was in the filler-filled anime)

Yeah, they did not struggle much (just a little at first), but it really should have been a no-issue battle if they are as strong as what is hinted right now (meaning, stronger than Rikuo pre-training).

Also, if the Nura clan is as strong as hinted, then how did Hihi (Shouei's father) die so easily under Tamazuki's team? Isn't he one of the big clan leaders? Tamazuki should be weak in comparison.

Hihi seemed pretty old even for Yokai standards if I recall

If you mean Nura Clan as whole, their morale was at the bottom due to 8 years of anarchy that came up due to there being no real leader (Nurarihyon was too old to properly lead such a huge Clan and Rikuo fooling around later didn't help their morale). Shikoku Clan also wisely didn't come into open conflict until the final battle so Nura Clan thought they were stronger than they really were. In battles themselves, Nura Clan didn't struggle while Tamazuki was left for Rikuo to handle (Leader vs Leader).

It was Muchi (the wind Yokai who got killed by Nurarihyon) who killed Hihi actually. Muchi wasn't really a weakling and due to him being a Yokai made of wind and poison, he had a great advantage over Hihi.

It is from a special episode (where Nura Clan plays Soccer). I found the video's on a Chinese forum but since this Anime is licensed, I am not sure if I am allowed to link to it.
