The staff doesn't really impress me and I have no idea what to expect from Production IMS on this.

I only watched Battle Girls: Time Paradox and I find it rather average. I'll probably give another series from that director and I'm sure I will like it better this time. Let's not forget that the show will be animated by a newly formed studio called Production IMS.

Erm. That's assistant director. And he still worked on some better series.

Don't see the problem here. Quality of the animation depends mainly on funding and i is provided not by studio itself in general case.

The studio is ex-AIC (I suppose they're capitalizing on AIC's recent success with light novel adaptations), so they have connections to a lot of animators. The question is whether they can mobilize fast enough for a full-length TV series.

He has only really directed Orphan Revenge, a Di Gi Charat special and one of the Otona Joshi no Anime Time eps, not really a big enough sample size.... otoh has been episode director for series like Utena (10 episodes out of 39), Monster and Azumanga Daioh.

So how important is Fushimi Inari to the story? Is the shrine featured a lot? It might be silly but I love that shrine and I'd love an anime that uses it as setting.

What you are asking might be considered very slight spoilers from chapter 1 manga :

- I consider Inari to be "the mood setter" of the story, though she does that un-intentionally (her personality makes people open up), there is -of course- a bunch of events that circle about her, but we could argue that other characters are equally imporant.

- The (IMHO) second most important character in the story works in that shrine 24/7 (she is shown in the key visual), and assumes that she isn't supposed to leave the place. Inari makes an habit of visiting that shrine for that reason. I even get the impression that the shrine is shown more than their house and even more than school.

Quite important since most things revolve around her. You'll learn to love the side characters a lot though, trust. Look forward to getting diabetes during the Winter, .

I actually wasn't talking about the character but the shrine that shares the same name.

Yikes, Uka is looking gorgeous, holy cow. They really are staying faithful to the art too, I'm excited.

Hm, the shrine does get featured a lot since that's where stuff happens. As far as plot relevance is concerned, I can't really say. Anyway, I think it's a safe bet to say we'll get plenty of good scenery shots of the shrine since we'll be there pretty often.

Hopefully that answers your question.

Edit: http://moca-news.net/article/2013110.../image001.html

More images of their designs. I repeat, this is some stunning design.

This will have 10 episodes:

Although I wouldn't be surprised if Kadokawa announces an OVA for it.
