The missing animation could just be added in a deluxe BD version, rather than remaking the whole anime from scratch.

Or perhaps using a missing materials that were supposed to be in that episode earlier as a part of the revelation scene in the future episode? |

I think I found out where the author found some of his inspiration for the Armored Titan other than Brock Lesnar. Or at least the animation team. Didn't really know where else to post this as it's not exactly an AoT image.

Spoiler for From Wiki:
Keep in mind that the author is a big fan of MMA (mixed martial arts), and a few of the things he drew are possibly inspired from anything related to MMA. |

4 scenes are not "nothing" in my book. And you need to consider the length and the situation. I can overlook a still if it's just some random background event but a still where there are about ten lines of dialogue is not excusable. That whole part felt like a radio drama rather than an anime.

The part served its purpose. Nothing exciting happened during the stair scene and basically everything else in the episode was well animated. Now if the scene in question was an important event of the anime then maybe you have something to stand on. |

At any rate this is besides the point, you could use that argument every time someone makes a critique to an anime to shut them up, and that's not nice. Now you can say that you don't care or that the parts with stills are "irrelevant" but that's just your opinion. It is a fact that the animation studio is running on a tight schedule, it is a fact that they sent announcement for animators because they need extra help, it is a fact that they even released half-baked episodes to some TV stations due to time constraints and it's a fact that they even apologized for that. There are evident problems going on and this causes flaws that can't be denied. Besides I'm not saying that the anime sucks or anything of that sort, I always expressed more than positive comments about the show in general, but the flaws are there and they bother me, deal with it.

Yeah, I don't understand all the crying over the stills. The animation team is obviously under a lot of pressure to put the episodes out in time. Now it's either have some stills for minor scenes and animate the rest excellently or just do a crappy job on everything. I would rather the former any day over the latter. So far the anime has done a great job with this series. In some areas (mainly the placing of the flashbacks and emotional scenes like Mikasa reuniting with Eren) I'd say it even tops the manga.
It's not perfect, but it's still head and shoulders above the rest of the anime out at the moment. The censoring can be annoying and I'm sure we would all prefer full animation over the use of stills in some scenes. Hopefully, the blu-ray version will get rid of the censoring at least. If the series were to be redone in the future I'd still want this same animation team and director working on it. Maybe just have them hire several more animators to ease the pressure.

When Araki was announced as director I thought to myself "well,at least the guy knows how to use stills well to save time/budget if needed" (Death note and HoTD are full of stills) but I never expected it it to be this much,I do hope they actually animate some scenes that were slideshows for the BD,but as long as the "money shots" such as some of the titan on titan action we got this week are still there I won't complain.

I know that I would much rather get a few recap episodes soon than having to see the show turn into a full blown shaft-style slideshow. One thing's true though: the action sequences have been consistently amazing so far. I would just love it if the team got the time to follow that up with every transition scene being properly animated instead of being forced to use stills like the staircase sequence on this last episode.

The bonus OAD they were planning to release with Vol11 of the manga has been delayed. They are tentatively planning to release the OAD with Vol12 instead. Wow, this is soooooooo shocking. Not. Lol. http://shingeki.net/#!/page/comics_11ltd Vol12 is scheduled for December. So they're probably going to wait until the horrifying production nightmare of the TV series ends in October before working on the OAD. Lololol. |
