If you get right down to it, there's more people here who are dissatisfied with the manga than those who are happy, so the thread will naturally go in that direction. I left due to pressure from pro-readers and after getting several pages in a day most days, it's literally gone to maybe 6 posts a week. Indeed. This manga is what it always wanted to be and other people were assuming it was something else. If more people were aware of how Nisioisin narrates, maybe people wouldn't be so anal. I mean, does everyone really NEED to read Zaregoto to understand the themes that Nisioisin is presenting here in Medaka Box? Even Bakemonogatari has some similar themes with amazing people having serious problems (Hitagi and Tsubasa are the most obvious examples).

Sounds easy even for Zenkichi to make that deduction.

Knowing Medaka, she probably already made that connection a long time ago, but not say anything about it.

And this Class 13 thing is confusing. There's a lot of amazing people in that school.
And they must not have joined any clubs since we haven't seen them.

They probably have. It's the "I'm a superhuman, so I'm better than you" club. Medaka is also the club's president. Zen just went around to the clubs with regular people, so he didn't see them.

Probably not. I remember the first chapter when the 13 was mentioned, they did say that Medaka was the only freshman in the group. And Shiranui is a freshman, so she shouldn't be.

I may be mistaken, though.

This is starting to sound like Bleach, the 12 shinigami captains. The author seems like hes grabbing all the good ideas from other mangas and mixing it into one(dbz ssj4,THMS club formation ,naruto-like abilities, bleach soul society).

If for this reason, probably can. I doubt the 13 go to class at all. May be they are enlisted in normal class, but are not checked for attendance, or things like that.

If there's a special class just for the 13, Medaka and Unzen should have been familiar with each other.

Even so, realistically speaking, they should be officially enlisted in some sort of class in their resume. They come to class or not is another matter. But Medaka box isn't exactly a manga made of reality, so who know?
