Liked Okabe, Kurisu and Mayuri - and really disliked Ruka. I like traps and all, but Ruka's whining was ridiculous when he was a girl.

Voted for Okabe, Kurisu and Itaru.

To me, those were the people who made the show as enjoyable as it was. All the others didn't really make that much of an impact on me.

That she was an important plot device is totally irrelevant to my opinion of her as a character. I agree that she was important for the story, but that doesn't mean I have to like her.

Lolwut? So because Mayuri was important to the plot we have to like her? I agree with Lord of Fire in that those three listed (especially Okabe/Kurisu) helped make the show as enjoyable as it was, and you know what? Mayuri only took away from my enjoyment of the show a lot of the time.

Everyone had a good development in the story as we can see in their backstories and everyone in the main character line up where the ones that mattered the most in the story.

Also Shining Finger should be re-named emo-girl imho.

btw Kirisu is one vote ahead of Okarin.

I voted for all except Kurisu because she's too popular IMO.
Well, in Evangelion, Shinji and Asuka were Adam and Eve eventually but maybe everyone thinks that Asuka was not main heroine.

Kurisu=tsundere Eve who came from foreign land=Asuka
Mayuri=a natural angel=Ayanami

btw I think in movie, maybe Kurisu will back out of triangle, if she realize that Mayuri loves Okabe. Because that's Kurisu after all.

Though it's not a matter of a popularity vote.

While the other characters were good, I highly doubt I would have liked this series as much as I did if it weren't for Okabe. It isn't often that the main character is my favorite character, and it's even rarer for them to entertain me to this extent. IMHO, without Okarin, there is no Steins;Gate...and in a very literal sense that might be quite accurate.

89/89. Really does show how popular those characters are/that pairing is. They were definately made for each other. I doubt Okabe would have made it through his journey without Kurisu. Well, other than his journey never actually starting, she made the time leap machine which allowed him to go back countless times. ^^

I usually have no regrets when it comes to be being a contrarian, but boy does it feel great to see that I'm part of the majority on this one.

I voted for Makise Kurisu and Okabe, They make a wonderful, wonderful, woooonderful couple, and are each fantastic characters. Extremely funny, eccentric and hyper-intelligent, they have a lot in common, and each break the mold of their character archetype. No label can contain either of them.

To me, there's simply no other choice. No one else comes close. These two just rock.

My point was that without Mayuri there would be no story to start with.

As great as it is to see them with the same amount of votes... it actually makes me really interested to see what would happen if we did a 1 vote only poll a couple months down the line. The K-ON forum actually did a 1 vote only poll, not many votes but I'm sure once the movie is out and the forum is popping again that will change.

Anyway someone request a 1 vote only poll before the year is over, very curious to see who outpolls who.
