Well, I understand why they would not want to repeat the whole first story and perhaps others, but I wonder what they plan to do when these areas and characters later come up again. I suppose referencing and flashbacks will help, but it could be confusing for any new viewers out there. I suppose we'll have to see.

This Isaac character is simply just a way of introducing things, but it does look entertaining at least. I'm looking forward more to seeing all the new manga characters in action. I am curious as to how many things they actually plan on doing over even though there are certain differences in how some of the early events happened.

Anyway, does anyone know who is doing the opening? I already know who is going the ending, but haven't heard anything on the opening yet.

Tokyo animation fair 09 had an extended animation trailer for Hagaren... HOLY SHIT... This is going to be awesome. Manga retelling is always accepted and the fact that the animation quality is bones quality... its gonna be one hell of a ride.

From what I can see and basing off what I know from the manga, there should be a lot more action and it should be more frequent too. I mean, don't get me wrong, I loved the first Fullmetal Alchemist anime and I thought it was the best thing ever. Then I actually started to read the manga after I finished the series (and I'm all caught up now) and I realize the manga is so much better! When you look back to the anime, you realize there actually wasn't that much fighting. And even if the battles were intense, a lot of it had either talking in the middle of it which took most of the time or it was an extremely short fight. Take the battle with Pride for example of that battle with the guardians in Lab 5.

Thanks. Now that I re-read it I remember now. I guess I didn't remember it since they didn't have so much emphasis on the exams like in the anime only because it's a manga. It'll probably be more memorable in this new series since it's an anime adaptation.

Yea you can tell that they are going to put alot more emphasis on the exam, as that was really a turning point in his life and the manga emphasizes this alot more, due to the recent trailer. All I want to see is the next manga chapter animated as it is going to look brilliant. I also want Bones not to do any filler and stick directly to the manga(which looks like it won't happen due to the VA list having this weird guy on there).

this increased my hype for the show.
Have they already said how long it will be ?
the time slot it will take make me assume it's going to be 50 episodes , but they might also cut it into a two 25 episodes format.
anyone knows how long its going to be ?

Really Al, Hohenheim, and Roy get SO MUCH MORE ACTION in the manga and it's not a bad thing! Oh yeah, here's a question for those who read the manga already. Spoiler: I'm reading some posts about Ed's State Alchemist exam? I don't remember the manga showing Ed becoming a State Alchemist. I thought he was already one from the start. I remember him renewing his license which wasn't much... but can anyone tell me which chapter is it where it shows him taking the State Alchemist exam?
