New Nanoha movie a HUGE hit:

http://www.sankakucomplex.com/2010/0...vie-premieres/

Some of the stuff sold there I would kill for, such as those film cells!!!!!! T.T
The chances of a second and third movie are looking pretty high.

Saw that sankaku complex earlier. Basically the accumulation of every or most merchandise item that we've seen so far. It sure was a momentous opening day.

What I'm interested in is, with all the re-watching, how much the Nanoha movie made on its first day. :S

So, Nina, seiyuu animedia with Yukarin and Nana-sama about the Nanoha movie.

I didn't read the scanned pages, but people already pointed out.... How Nana wants to know more about Yukarin. wwwwww 'A';

.... So that's what Yukarin wore, huh. Nana's dress reminds me of the Live Fever one except more family friendly, ololol.

I don't know what the typical anime movie does in Japan...But 4.3mil in one day seems really, Really high, lol.

I do expect it to do very well though, whatever "very well" means for an anime movie release.

Good job pulling that number out of thin air.

We do have a release of the top 10 rankings of the weekend box office rankings on the 23rd and 24th. The only anime movie to make the list was Yu-Gi-Oh at number 6. Of course there's the Nodame Live Action Final but that's another story..

As for actual earnings of the top 10 movies in a 7-day span, check this page when January 30th (GMT+9) rolls around.

All that said, given that KnK movies being declared a success by industry people and that none of the movies made the list, the Nanoha movie's probably a success by otaku-anime standards.

More Movie Premiere coverage : special focus on Nana (sorry LVD-chin) and interview of some fans calling her nothing less than the "Queen of anime" or even their "God" crazy fangirls~
I really like the plushy :]

Yeah, the Nanoha movie didn't have a wide enough release (I think it was less than 30 screens) to be able to crack a list like that.

welp. Guess no Nanoha t-shirt for me.

Apparently, the re-watch cards are already all gone. I don't even know if that means that people who haven't used the cards three times can still use them because the Nanoha goods were pretty much sold out on the first day.

Some pamphlets were left for the second day, but it looks like those are all gone as well. ^_^v

You know what that means, riiiiiiiiight~?

Well, the main thing is that it's profitable.

I imagine with these numbers, that it is.

Oh, I'd definitely agree it was profitable. I kinda wish they had released on more screens. I'd like to see Nanoha hyped more, so more people get into it and thus more anime and manga gets made quicker, heh.

Even the Haruhi movie was restricted to 24 theaters, so I guess giving more screens to an anime movie (unless it's Yugioh, or some anime that attracts a ton of younger kids) doesn't tend to work too well.
