Well I think the answer is member of this forum. Obviously it's female. By saying she fought with trolls and other creatures makes me believe it's mod ( who deals with trolls and other things). And the only mod that I know that is a girl is Hellychan (no offense to you Hellychan

I would say it's actually ElvenPath. I might be wrong but I have the gut feeling ElvenPath is a girl (not to mention I haven't met a single guy on here who hid his gender), and the riddle references to a story, and unless I'm wrong, she's active in making fanfics. Also, the riddle makes reference to Lord of the Rings and the kind of setting you would have in it. Elves exist in that setting as well, hence my guess would have to be her.

Hmm, the riddle says, someone killed the professor, so we're looking for the culprit, who may or may not be the princess of the story. I think that it leads to the title of a work (be it book, manga, movie or game) in which exists the legend of the princess, and in fact the culprit is the final villain of said story, which begins at the end of the riddle.
Alternatively, it is a math riddle, since Kiyoshi Ito won the Carl Friedrich Gauss award in 2006 and died in 2008, but I can make no connection to any kind of novel...

Spoiler for 1st riddle's answer: Carl Friedrich Gauss is a mathematician. This might imply maths is involved. It surely leads to the culprit! The url should point to a person. But it does not matter since time is irrelevant in the five kingdoms. Ignore any numbers relating to time. Lets start with the kingdoms. kingdom of "V". Roman numerical for 5. SeveN Lancers. Obviously 7. kingdom of the Nazgûl. From the Lord of the Ring representing the 9 fallen human kings. Hence 9. unlucky kingdom. Unlucky 13. kingdom of XI o'clock. Roman numrical for 11. there are no profiles with the digit 5791311. Hence the number needs to be modified to get the actual answer. .... they would be cut down to size until they were no greater then the kingdoms kings. Subtraction is involved. The number has 5 or less digits. The other numbers that appeared in each kingdom: Kingdom of "V": 3 kingdom of SeveN Lancers: 5 kingdom of the Nazgûl: 5 unlucky kingdom: this one is a bit tricky since no digits appear. But, mirror breaks. So, 7 years of bad luck!
