does anyone noticed the preview dialogue
which i found kinda funny

Y: Nayuki , you dont have anyone you like ?
N: Then ...
J: Shiori-chan
Y: *depressed and wants to cry*
A: Yuuichi-kun ... whats wrong ??
Y: I.... kitagawa
J: *shocked*

Y: you just thought i was lying
A: a little
Y: but its true

So KyoAni is making yuri/yaoi jokes in the previews now? Nice catch.

Yup, if you guys didn't get that preview joke.

I think it was trying to say it like this:

Yuuichi ask Nayuki who she likes, and KyoAni is trying to make her say she like Shiori. Then Yuuichi got depress that Nayuki's is that kind of a girl, which is why Ayu ask Yuuichi what's wrong. Then Yuuichi went into serious depression, since he found out Nayuki doesn't like him, so he gave up finding other girls to be with (he only has an eye for Nayuki!) and confess that he love Jun out desperation. Jun freaked out by realising this (bad move there Jun, acting gay in that episode 17, that's what you get for it). Ayu doesn't believe this is happening, but Yuuichi re-ensure her that it's true.

Thus why... Kaori said what she said.

Kaori: You really don't have an eye for girls, do you, Aizawa-kun?
Yuuichi: B-But... it's true. *sobs*

thats a bit farfetched IMO
i found more plausibel if Yuuichi got some feelings for Jun

btw i shouldnt go offtopic , i found the scene of Shiori asking for Yuuichis hand soo romantic
not sure if anyone share the same thoughts

Y1 should have told Shiori that he'd be there to the end but I don't think he
was quite that forward thinking, or at least fast at thinking on his feet -- I
think he was surprised when she revealed her feelings to him and he sat
there, dumbstruck.

well he didnt expect it at all...i mean having such a hottie kissing you
shiori just wanted to figure things out for herself imo...trying to be strong and independent is still set in her head so natrually she wouldnt want to be a burden to yuuichi ~ (another explination for this is that shes playing hard to get )

She definitely is not playing hard to get (She made the first and second move ) (and yes, i do realize that the statement was not very serious )... but i doubt that she is even considering that possibility of being Yuuichi's girlfriend (Beyound that she let him know how she feels) in her current situation. As you said - just like with Kaori, she would like to be with him, but is not pushing the matter, because it will end up hurting the person in question.

What she did not consider however, is that, unlike Kaori, Yuuichi would be more than willing to stay by her side. Arguably, her running off like that hurt Yuuichi more than staying by her would... though both options can be quite traumatic. Stuck between a rock and a hard place. Shiori just chose (what she thought to be) the lesser of two evils.

Got to say one of my favorite episodes. The mood and everything else were spot on. I have a question though.

Spoiler for question:

In the translation I have (A.f.k.) the scene is as follows.

Shiori "I don't know how much i should thank you."
Yuichi "I didnt do much"
S "You're a strong person"
Y "You're the one whos strong"
S "No I'm not, I've slit my wrist before."

Is this a bad translation? Or did she really cut herself. I had thought that she stopped RIGHT beforehand.

Wow a very emotional and well done episode, I actually cried a little bit at with scene of Shiori and Yuuchi, when she started talking about not wanting to die . While I felt the ending to Mai's arc was a bit better, still Shiori's was well done too.

Yea, it's sad that someone who appreciates life so much has so little time. Sometimes you just have to treasure the moments you have since every one can be your last.

Shiori is the wisest of them all.
