Yes but not exactly, on the magazines renton reads it has the year 200Ad5, also his date of birth was in the year 1991. On episode 34, Moondoggie shows his pilot license, his was born on 6/08/1988.

Oh, interesting point sonicgx11. I can see why they would use a year number like that in the original, and if they did then it's obviously *possible* for "2025 AD" to be 20 years later in-universe. The rest still seems hard to fathom at this time.

Yes, I also want to know who is the slim girl, why does nirvash look like that, my theory is that it was probably reborn, and Ao, looks a lot like renton and eureka.

I'm very optimistic about this.

The apparent discontinuity of the story is no problem. Let's be fair, the ending was not really a strong point of E7, storywise.
What's important were the character developements and their conclusions. Even if this is set in a different (or totally changed) world or time, they still seem to be connected with the characters from E7. So the important part of E7 gets carried over, all is good.

This thread seems to not only have hit the panic button on this sequel, but smashed it head on Gaogaigar style. Why so many worries folks, why the accusation that they're turning into Infinite Stratos? I just want to know what this is being based on other than a desire to overeact to the character designs that have been leaked so far ala the Gundam AGE scenario?

That really doesn't mean tht 1000 years passed, besides AD means our current time, proofs are in some of the episodes.

Well, my number one Eureka Seven wish would be to get a series that focused on Charles' and Ray's life between when they left the military and the events of E7.

Barring that, this sequel(?) is a perfectly fine consolation.

Main pair are pretty much newbies, huh? Ren never stood out to me when I saw Elementhunters and I have no idea about Kanako Miyamoto. Let's see how they fare. Also haven't heard Chiaki Omigawa play any significant role in a while.
