Wasn't the point of moe suppose to invoke a 'need to hug/protect' or something along those lines?

At least that's what I found according to tvtropes and cross reference with other blogs.

But then again I've always thought of it as an artstyle with characters drawn with exaggerated eyes to emphasise cuteness. Nothing wrong with it except you get bored of cuteness after 1st 5 or 6 times. Not going to ruin anime but as long as the characters do something funny/interesting

But I don't know about you but when I see a fearful Mio, I feel a need to make fun of her even more for the shits and giggles. Am I really suppose to find that cute? And is this what all the otakus are fussing about and hence why is so god damn popular?

Or is it cause my idea of being a brother is to put my junior in her place when she annoys me too much?

i was never a fan of azu-nyan with cat ears on i just like the nickname and i think its more cute when she does go nyan~ but the ears i didnt really like but IMO the suit her better then the other characters
