My guess (and I'd be willing to bet on it) is that it'll be two new songs that we've never heard before. Even though there's already a lot of songs to choose from, they're definitely not going to miss the opportunity to solicit new CD Singles. That's why they're making another season after all.

As I noted from your artcatch in the image thread... there's some meat to the idea that K-On could be described as "Lucky Star 2.0, Now With Music!!!" No, they're not actually the same flavor nor are the characters identical, but there's significant commonality. I'm absolutely fine with that as long as it doesn't swamp everything else --- because then we'd never get gems like Spice&Wolf or Bakemonogatari.

So, Kyoani already announced the 2nd season of K-ON? That was sooner than I expected. One more anime to look for in the next season, now.
Kyoani is establishing itself as the moe company. But actually, almost every anime is moe-oriented nowadays. K-ON is described as Lucky Star with music, and now we have So-Ra-No-Wo-To, which looks like K-ON in the army, lol. |
