From the info posted at this page, there is a 5-disc OST compilation set due out in Japan on the 26th of March 2014.

It seems to come with a host of added goodies, too.

So, Neptunia Victory came out a little while ago on the PSN store, thus I figured it would be a good opportunity to start the game off.
Been enjoying the story thus far, but since I'm aiming for the perfect (40) chapter review score, I've been pretty much stuck on two last quests (or rather, focusing on getting the 3 Holy Whale Balls quest).

It's starting to get on my nerves a little because of how much this all relies on Lady Luck's mood- you'd need to be fortunate enough for the scout to find the monster shuffle ("Risky Foe!") switch, then kill the said rare and strong monster(s) to have a small chance at getting the required item (not so much of an issue when it's the regular monsters). Killed about eight of the Child Whale monsters and not a single one coughed up a Holy Whale Ball item for the quest.

A similar thing happened to me for the quest that requires getting the AG Booster item by killing "Main Character Ricky". Got frustrated after killing him about six times with no rewards. Came back to the last save about a day later, and managed to get four of the quest item, plus Large Medal A.

I wonder if there's an item that increases the item drop rate from monsters?

yes there is but they are for the CD's and they only if they person equip with the cd lands the finishing blow, there is an item that does have drop rate increase attached to it but i don't remember where its obtain but it works the same way as the CD drop rate increase

I've been trying to figure out the archetypes for the new characters. I know that the first new character is based on Chun-Li from Street Fighter while another character has a soccer-based theme to it. However, I'm not sure who the other characters are inspired by.

I think the last new character (Lady Work/Wakka(?)) is inspired by Pac-Man (I mean, pac-man does eat everything right??).

The 2nd new character (Ain Al) should be based on FF series (I mean, there is a Moogle look-alike holding an atheryte.). Of course, I think there are some pics that can be found on a particular month's magazine that points to her being inspired by FF series. (Also, she does look like a genderbent Cloud from FF7 for some reason...)
EDIT: Another person (Might be the same) translated the character's detail found in the magazine, "The place her sword leading for is the final fantasy.

The 3rd new character (Restore(?)) (My guess) is inspired by Ar tonelico/Agarest series (Either one or the other). As for reference, use /vg/ archive to search.
EDIT: Apparently someone from /vg/ translated the character's detail in the magazine, if you know this (Yes I don't.), you can answer what is she inspired by.

The 4th new character (Saori) is based on a Galge (Yes, I dont know how to translate this) VN.

MAGES. is notably absent from the character cast.
It doesn't seem as though we'll be seeing Nisa and Gust either...

Pretty much we can use this and the other PV to confirm which game each character is parodying.

In terms of the new characters introduced here (although some have been introduced early on, and we weren't aware of the update), I've recognized the following "inspirations":

-Sakura Wars
-Resident Evil (figured that one out after realizing that the character was with other characters based on Capcom games)
-Idolm@ster
-Mobile Suit Gundam

It appears two new games in the franchise were announced earlier today:
- 超次元アクション ネプテューヌU / Chōjigen Action Neptune U, and
- 新次元ゲイム ネプテューヌVII（ビクトリィーツー） / Shin Jigen Game Neptune VII (Victory 2)
There's not many details about the two games at this stage.

The "Compile Heart Dynamite Sugoi Kansha Stage 2014! 2014-Nen mo Nepu Nepu Shiteyanyo!" event at Sunday's Dengeki Game Festival announced two new games in the Neptune (Neptunia) franchise.

Chōjigen Action Neptune U (Hyperdimensional Action Neptunia U) is an action game with "'Bassari Kitte, Boyoyo~n' gameplay." The platform has not been announced.

The second game, Shin Jigen Game Neptune VII (New Dimensional Game Neptunia VII), was introduced with a video at the end of the panel. The video showed the phrases "The goddess who fell into the dark side, "Gameindustri's change," "series' greatest looming threat," and "violent Gameindustri battle over the dimensions."

Hmmmmm...the former kind of has me intrigued if only for what the gameplay will be like and the likeliness it may be on the Wii U instead of a Sony platform. The "action" part of the title suggests something that isn't an RPG.

The second is obviously the 4th main game. No surprises there. Not sure I'll get it even if it is localized though since I never managed to finish Victory.

I wouldn't be surprised if the gameplay was akin to Dynasty Warriors, though we'll have to wait for further details.

The website for Neptunia Victory 2 has just been opened, but we'll probably hear details about both games when Dengeki Playstation Volume 564 gets released on April 10.
