What if someone decides to walk the OOC route and have Tabane rectify her little programming issue which only allows females to pilot IS such that males will be able to pilot them as well?

Not sure if anyone has already published a story with such plot point. But damn...

Also, what do you mean by copies of Arnie?

Why do we make male OCs?

1) Because the show is saturated by estrogen already with only 1 relevant source of testosterone proving to have more pheremone than actual testosterone.

2) We're men with no confidence on how to write about women.

Then it'll be the same, only suddenly we have Ichika started as S-rank rookie or with special power unobtainable by anyone else, because... you know... main character should be special is a rule for Shonen.

@ Stratos - Blatant Character Derailment. The only male she cares about is Ichika. THe rest can rot to for her.

I saw a story where a kid, most likely 5-7, took out 10 IS pilots with no suit and by - you won't believe this - grabbing the pilots gun, pushing it to her face, and making her pull the trigger. That has to be the weakest pilot in IS history.

@ Demi - THen write a tomboy. I've done it before, and it's not like tomboys are impossible in real life.

@ Yachi - Well, Celeste thiks her dad gave birth to her

you already said that you hung around girls a lot during your younger days, before or after your gynophobia.

Let me describe how close I am to the female species. From before till even to this day, I am hesitant to get within a 5 foot radius of them.

Thanks~! Canon mentioned that Cecilia's unit is meant to suppress targets, single and multiple alike. So I made it such that her OOA is centered around that role.

That and there's also me blasting Ex-S's theme(Which she'll definitely qualify for upon reaching Second Shift) into my ears and trying to improve Cecilia the best I can.

@OC fics in general: It's always a hit or miss with OC fics. Sometimes it's not even really a matter of balance or the writer's skill. You either find an OC you can relate to or just enjoy his antics and what not. Whatever it is, most stories really are just like that.

Overpowered characters. Bad justification of events. Over-justification of events. Lack of development. Bad grasp of writing language. Things like that are issues of writer and editor. It's not limited to only OC fics, rather its a problem that can be found in all types of fics. It's just that people find the OC approach easier to start with so this fic type falls victim to all these problems more often than not.

@Everything else: I'm going off now.

Also, my take on Blue Tears Alice's OOA: Spoiler for Stuffs: Upon succeeding Second Shift, the Blue Tears Alice also develops a One-Off Ability: - Hyperion Astrum, an attack formation which involves the collective use of the Pardalote and Spegla optical drones. The Pardalotes moves to attack while the Speglas maintain close proximity. At random intervals, the Pardalote drones take turns firing at the Spegla drones, throwing off the target’s focus as the other Pardalotes keep up their barrage while the Speglas move to reflect the beam shot back at the target from various angles. Mental stress on the pilot is minimal as the formation attack is mostly controlled by the AQua Processing System, allowing the pilot to use her other weapons to add on to the suppression by attacking with other weapons like the Blue Sentinel beam cannon and the Xiphias hip cannons. Other features: - AQua Processing System, short for “Automated Quantum Processing System”. This A.I. system utilizes records of Cecilia’s optical drone usage during pre-Second Shift, improving the performance of the Pardalote attack drones.
