I was referring to the amount of time at the certain speed the elevator would go before hitting near 0 gravity. There is such thing as 0 gravity..... technically gravity is what keeps the solar system from floating off into a different sector of space. Everything has relative gravity based on mass. The difference is it gravitational effects on other things that are on the receiving end the gravitational pull. The bigger the mass the bigger gravitational force it has.
I think to cancel out gravitational pull of the earth you need to travel 9.8 meters per second... I might wrong though.

It's happening. Orion, or at least a prototype of sorts, is now a reality.

Explain what? be more specific, But I'll go on a limb and think it was the above post... the Orion shuttle should be what Shutuara and her father were in which was the spacecraft that had trouble. What the poster link was something similar becoming a reality.

Finished watching the movie and I can only say that it's great that the story was rather straightforward: no twists, no running around the bush, just pure unadulterated action between Science and Magic.
I think I understand the issues with the movie. Stiyl being Stiyl when it comes to doing things gave the impression that the clash of Stiyl's Angels against Academy City felt forced, and the overall conflict, despite the number of civilians endangered and the scope of magic and technology involved, felt weak. I personally would have wanted a more concrete ending for Shutaura and a better background of the factions involved, but I assume they were covered by Road to Endymion. That said, it wasn't a waste of time. This is J.C. Staff pulling all the stops to create a fulfilling Index movie.

I watched this movie some hours ago. The animation is just perfect, as the CGI and the introduction of the Space Elevator into Index Franchise. I just remembered about Axis Shock (Chars Counterattack) during the Miracle of Endymion: an object who stopped falling by miracles. It is lame that Endymion disappeared into space.
