*sniff* Indeed. It's been awhile since Kawahara wrote a tear-jerker...

I wonder if Kayaba accomplished his brain scan in a similar fashion.

"The Day After", it was great story. It seriously brought tears to my eyes.

Sachi, I still miss you.

This little story reminded me why Asuna's POV is always more interesting than Kirito's. It's because she's a more introspective kinda person, and that makes her more "human," and easier to relate to despite being a girl.

Anyway, I liked it. He should wright her POV more often, or better yet, he should do a spin-off series with her as the main character.

Sachi..... T___T

Is there more to 'The Day After' or is that it?
The ending seems a bit cut off, like there's more to the story that hasn't been translated yet..

There is no more. It was just a short story he wrote for the last BD, so I guess there was a limit, he wouldn't make it that long. Kawahara had mentioned it would be about Asuna, Kirito and one more character(Sachi) and that part is complete.

It cuts off like that, or Kawahara would probably extend it to include even more stuff.

Really, it's just a way to save space and mind power by implying the rest of Asuna's reply.

I would like to read a short story in which the caith sith leadr or Sakuya try to continue their "negotiations" with Kirito, and Asuna makes a "hands off of him" scene, with yui saying "papa's heary is making doki doki Mama", and kirito paying for the perfectly normal biological reaction to the situation.

Also, it would be nice to know if Klein got lucky with the GM that usrs Skuld in ALO.

Lol, honestly I think that would make a good 4-Koma chapter. If the current 4-Koma series ever got that far, I'd love to read it. Also I want to know more on how the others, like Klein and Liz, adapted to ALO. How it was meeting Eugene and Sakuya was like. GOD, they have to make a Progressive for ALO.

I had just finished reading the ALO arc 3 days ago and 2 days ago, Tap translates "The Day After". Perfect timing

Spoiler for Notes on this side story:

Guys, is there any other Side-Story from the SAO/ALO arcs that remains to be translated? (Apart from Rondo of the Transient Sword)

Well I think almost all the side stories are translated. It's just the Material Editions that need to be translated (just ME 1 and 3 but they're in manga format) and Cradle of the Moon as well. But Alicization would have to end first before we read Cradle of the Moon since it takes place after the arc. And Progressive is almost translated too, if you're looking for more original content and short stories.

The Meterial Editions 1 and 3 were translated by Tap. They aren't at Baka Tsuki because they are mamgas and Baka Tsuki hosts only novel formats. Here, look for "Material Edition":

Would Kawahara finish CoTM then, after he completes Alicization?
Spoiler for Some references to WEB novel end:
Given this pattern of inserting SSes between and after a completed arc, I think it's highly possible that CoTM would be completed sometime before the last volume wrapping up Alicization, or a compilation with other new and original SSes.

There's this side story "Caliber" from volume 8. Where is this story situated chronologically?
I just finished the ALO arc (Volume 4) and want to read all involved side/short stories before starting the GGO arc (volime 5).

But it seems Caliber includes GGO, so when should I read it?

At what date starts the GGO arc?

Basically, read Volume 5 and 6 first, and then Caliber. Caliber is basically just like, a week or so after GGO. (12 or so days)
