so next episode will be bangai... this special appeared time after phantom lord (or even after tower of paradise can't remember) but i can understand why they put it now.. don't have any complanits

There was a surprising lack of seiyuu jokes though. I was fully expecting Happy to re-equip as Shana. But swimsuit Erza is fine too.

The kid (forgot his name) must be disappointed since he wasn't one of the people to switch at the end. I'm guessing we won't ever find out what "that" is too.
Levy was cute. It'd be nice if she got screen time in the future. Even though she screwed up in the end.
Next episode is the side story in the ending. I hope people won't complain too much about the next arc being put off.

Too bad the Anime you just mentioned is a JC Staff property instead of Satelight, or you know that would happen. In Railgun that totally rip that one off.

HOLY EPIC LOLZ BATMAN!!!

for total filler thats gotta be one of the funniest things I've ever seen.
Erza/Happy swap was the best one "Requip, requip! Look at me requip!"

I'm kinda surprised at what the next ep will be but very much looking forward to it.
I'm ok with putting off the next arc if they give us a few of these totally epic fillers(never thought I would ever say that)

Not quite what I thought it would be, but that's far from a bad thing. This turned out to be a really fun episode.

Spoiler for Episode 19/Preview for Episode 20:

The seiyuu sounded like they were having a blast with this episode.

My favorite parts were Lucy drooling ice cubes, Erza trying to stop Happy, and Happy attempting to fly away and falling on Erza instead.

And poor Levy ended up mind swapping the majority of Fairy Tail in the end, XD

I'm actually quite happy that they're putting the dragon egg chapter next since it will set up the next arc quite nicely (especially where MiraJane and Elfman are concerned). Plus young Mira and Erza are hilarious.

That aside was this a one off filler episode that didn't mean anything? Or is the ending tided in with the dragon egg flashback next episode?

A little something off-topic, something I've been wondering about is has Sayaka Ohara ever had any other roles using that type of voice before?
I can't remember hearing her ever do so before but then I haven't seen all the animes she's been in before.

Love the fire and ice drool in Episode 19. Other than that, the filler episode isn't as interesting.
Can't wait to see ep 20 though. Preview seems to show we'll get to see the past of the main characters.

I enjoyed that filler episode, it was pretty funny
Granted though, it was kind of disappointing that it was just a one shot episode... would have actually liked to see this extended into several episodes, We could have gotten some development for characters like loki, and the craziness potential of having to work together with flawed magic skills was incredibly high... they could have just turned this into a side quest where they had like 72 hours or something to go to some place and break the spell


i mean, they might aswell start putting in small filler arcs now instead of later... unless the manga does not plan to be as long as other shonens, the anime team will likely eventually catch up and have to force themselves into doing back to back fillers... the more small fillers they fit in now, the less they have to deal with later.... personally i want to see some development out of the secondary characters, the other members of fairy tail that don't get as much screen time as Natsu/Gray/Lucy/Happy/Ezra

This was a filler episode... nothing more
The Dragon Egg story however is an omake in the manga

Some good laughs in this one. Was pretty hilarious with Lucy having to stop Gray's habit and Erza trying to deal with Happy . Leaves a few questions for people to ponder like why Natsu couldn't use Loki's magic.

Anyways the real tragedy was Lucy never got to find out what "that" is .

The episode was rather heavy on the hints, but it was funny, FT's weakest team, lol Happy and Erza dominate this time, "look at me requiiiip" was hilarious.

In that case I tried to match the sing-songiness more than the meaning. It literally was "requip, requip, I'll requip too!" But I wanted to make sure that the pattern was "requip, requip, something something requip" and "look at me" fit Happy's character

Even if it's not translated literally at all, it's still funny as hell backed with Sayaka Ohara doing that voice
simple dialogue for such scenes often works very well.

another part I loved was around 17:25 where Lucy or Gray shouts "We're not gonna make it!" but I think thats more to do with how Aya sounds when saying it

A funny episode, being a filler I really liked it. Episode 20 will be the dragon egg omake, which is really good in my opinion, but it's no where near that part of the manga yet, so I'm not sure why they chose to do it this early.

Looks like Akiko Matsuo will be AD along with Yuji Ushijima for episode 20. So animation should be alright. Since he is the best FT has, I'm not sure why they're using him for an omake episode instead of some important action stuff coming up. [Sigh] I just wish they would get somebody really good, for just like, an episode or something. Anyway, looks like we'll be getting back with cannon material after this, if anybody cares.
