KAMI'S BACK!!!
Nice new OP, maybe a little under the first, but still enjoyable. The full release (8 minutes again? ) might give it a better feeling. AaaHhHh... The first OP 8bits style, with a little orchestra behind. Such a nice treat! The overall pacing was really good. Let's hope they will stick with this one & half episode all along. It gives a cliffhanger, without stalling things too much. Kusunoki was cute, and even more gorgeous with her dress than in the manga. BTW, the anime team used a lot of panels directly from the paper version. Sadly they messed up a little the willpower battle between Kusa and Kami. I always portrayed it in the old DBZ/Bleach fashion, just with a lot more ribbons involved. Congrats for the bonus pages, cutely covered in pastel fashion. We may just hope for the same treatment for, let's say, Shiori. I noticed a redesign of Chihiro in the OP. The one from the first season was quite off, but this one is a "little bit" overboard too (big eyes, noticeable chest). I'm not sure it's a good move, given her averageness is what makes her super-plain charm in the manga. At least for me. And there's only three targets... Even with Haqua involved in her own arc, it's a little cheap. Anyway, a really good kicker for a new season in this world Keima only knows. 9/10

yes finally back! How i've missed Elsie. I liked how she laughed at Keima's drawing. Forgot how he treats her bad though. I couldn't watch her crying.
So the target is Kasuga. SO she has a weakness for cute weak things. Well then Keima must take the cake. Interesting how she's older then him, so it might prove as a harder task. So next week time for a date. Elsie really does have good plans.

Yeah, I know the girls are supposed to be a parody, and stock characters don't bother me at all if they're played right. I liked their designs and seiyuu, but something about the first season's girls just didn't click with me, especially the idol singer. I think I had the same reaction to the first season that I had to Amigami SS. There's just not enough time to get to know the girls before they're gone. I got a lot more enjoyment out of the episodes that didn't focus on capturing (the endless loop bug episode and final episode). I ended up watching for Keima's gaming antics more than the girls (except Elsie).

yees, its back!!!
to quote a youtube video that i saw: other crap filled the gap while I waited to begin... solid first episode, and it included everything i loved in the first season. at least they didn't start with a 1 episode arc just like what they did with the first girl. the OP was not as good as the first one, and the ED was likable enough for me. and now excuse me as i will now have to endure the pain of waiting another week before the second episode airs |
