I personally found some of the characterizations inconsistent with each other .. which makes sense considering different people wrote different "routes" and that the *cough* mature *cough* portions tended to be superfluous .. I loved the soundtrack though. Absolutely adored it. I'd pay money for it.

I'd love to play another route, but like, I don't want Hisao to go with another girl, It'll be weird meeting her in the next route and then knowing he wont end up with her.
Edit: Her as in Lilly, noticed I made no mention of who 'she/her' is. Last edited by Celestia Ludenberg; 2013-01-15 at 16:42. |

That's not an unusual feeling. That's why I used a flowchart to make sure I got the story of the girl that appealed to me intrinsically the most first. Then later I played the others just for the literary aspects. Quality varied.

I just found out about this and started playing now.
This is probably my second VN, though the first one was irregular to say the least so I suppose I could call this my first real one. Regardless of its origin. I think the reason I actually tried this out is because I can personally connect with it to a certain extent. There are many instances in the game where I felt uncomfortable, but this served to pull me in, surprisingly or perhaps not. Hisao's condition is much worse than mine, and very different, but our experience shares many similarities that, while uncomfortable to relive in my memory, served to establish a more personal connection. And hey, I'm still not done with the game anyway. |

Two things:
1) Katawa Seiyū 2) The most recent video made me wonder something: What was Rin's backstory? I can remember everyone else's, even Kenji's, but not Rin's. |

I just started playing this--I'm on Act 2 now--and am trying to avoid reading any guides, but I know how these kinda games like to make seemingly unrelated choices do weird things.
I'm apparently on Emi's route. I had to actually look that up to figure out which girl Hisao ended up with. This is what I was trying to go for, so I'm pretty pleased it worked out that way. The VN kinda surprised me. I'm hooked. It's a bit easier than playing a real game, even if the protagonist is male, since it's more like reading a book. If it were much more interactive I'd have a harder time identifying with it, though.

Hanako struck me as the stereotypical woobie character, and while I'm sure she's handled properly in the game (I'll play through the other routes at some point to get the story), I typically don't like woobies. Woobie, Destroyer of Worlds is cool though.

Didn't actually realise I was on Emi route until some time in second arc.
Surprised my self to find I had no problem ending up in different route, ended up liking Emi a lot. In fact, she's probably the reason I decided to run in the morning. |

Just listened to the voice acting youtube bits at Katawa Seiyū.
Okay, I'm impressed. They don't suck and it sounds rather like they tried hard to find voices to match the personalities. Interested to see how they voice Hanako and Lilly. Hisao is probably the weakest read of the lot -- he just has that over-inflected chant going that cues you he's reading instead of acting. Oh, there's an art book at the Katawa site that I must have missed. PDF file -> http://dl.katawa-shoujo.com/pr/artbo...w_Today_EN.pdf
