The Gogo movie isn't really good IMO, too much focused on Nozomi. The second Max Heart movie is sort of interesting, despite the paper-thin plot.

All the girls in Fresh were very likeable though my favourite was Love/Peach. She was the perfect blend of strong and hot-bloodness as Peach while very caring and gentle and even motherly as Love, her klutzy-ness never got over board either. Also she never got over-shadowed by the other members which was quite a feat consider that seems to be the case with HC and Smile with Blossom and Happy who both seem to suffer from the "useless leader syndrome" where only in times of plot need and climaxes do they provide the emotional pull as leader.

Also the way Peach communicate with her fist G Gundam style was just awesome too - one of my favourite episode of the series.

I don't think Miyuki is that bad. I mean, she's a bit of a dunce, but she's certainly no Nozomi.

I will agree that Love is a strong character though, Her, Miki and Setsuna really deserved a better show than they got.

So the "Pierrot" we saw in last week's blowout was only a shell. The most that all that Bad Energy managed to revive was the spiky thing inside. (With Tesshou Genda voicing Pierrot and Gorisaki Banana, his roles last week stood in pretty sharp contrast to each other.) So we have another countdown clock for Pierrot, and another set of Decor for the girls to collect. Her Majesty was revived, but she spent her power giving them new merchandise, and thus remains statuefied. Other than the entrance of the Super Akanbe and the search for the Miracle Jewel, the status quo largely remains. (The word "Super" really lacks punch for me these days.)

I thought this episode would be sugary cute, and for quite a few minutes, it was. Pop's hair transformed the girls into Fairies.

Okay, not like that.

All of them assigned themselves a verbal tic too. Miyuki was "Miyu~", Nao was "Nao~", Reika was "Desu" (and here I thought Natsuko Kuwatani was Desu), Akane was "Yane~" (though she wasn't very happy with it) and Yayoi was "~Geso". Okay, she was "~Yayo". But she should've been "~Geso". That whole segment with them meeting various fairyfied fairy tale characters was a sugar bomb of cuteness, for the brief time it lasted. Mostly a transitory episode, that turned out to be only partly as cute as I expected. Get used to Princess Form's animation, you're going to be seeing it a lot from here on out.

It was nice to have a breather after the intensity of the week before (Joker barely acted like he was hurt), and the next episode doesn't air for two weeks because of the Olympics. But when it does, beach time! Also, the Nissan Combo gets into a fight with each other. With sexy results.

Just finished Fresh PC, pretty good overall. The last arc was kinda "meh" at least the 3 villians were very likable, specially Westar. I also liked the 2nd ending song. Also wow Inory just wow, did she really got hit on by a white tiger?

Episode 24

Alright, so they were dead. Joker was reformed out of nothing, and the others were dead until they were revived. I'm a little disappointed that they're still collecting decors and there's a Pierrot clock. Surely they could have come up with a new structure. While I'm kind of glad that the villains are alive (I like these guys), at the same time, it's disappointing in that that there isn't really any progression.

As for this episode, it was a fun in-between episode. Not much to say this week other than general series comments.


As for favorite series, Heartcatch is by far my #1. I loved the characters, action, main plot, and even the side stories of that one. The character design is also easily my favorite of the franchise. Both the Cashern and Dormei influences are noticeable and appreciated.

Splash Star is #2. This one takes a while to get going, but I love Saki and Mai. It also has Kintolesky, who is my favorite Precure villain.

Suite is #3. It has its problems (especially early on), but I love Hummy, and she really makes this show.


As for the others, I've only completed Futari Wa Pretty Cure, and I'm about halfway through both Precure 5 and Fresh. I am actively watching Precure 5 right now. Futari Wa is easily better than what I've seen of the other two. I also saw some of Max Heart, but dropped it. Compared to Futari Wa, Max Heart has all of the formula, but is lacking most of the heart. What I saw felt like a filler season, so I quickly moved on.

So, we're halfway the series, are we getting new pretty cures or what? according to Tv tropes, there are rumours of 2 more.

If we were getting new Cures, there'd probably be a scan about it by now. Though the point where a new heroine would be introduced was instead taken up by the power-up form, so there's no telling what they'll do for the next quarter. I wouldn't rule it out, but the show's got enough to explore with its current cast.

Somehow kinda disappointed with the direction the Smile Precure took after eps 24...
After that climax in eps 23, i see eps 24, they just restarted it all over again.

Bad End Kingdom will resurrect Pierrot-sama, using Super Akanbe, while Smile Precure fight them.

It just feel like anti-climax...
Hope they throw some twist near the end of the show... Which is minimal 16 eps from now...

It seems the only people in Marchenland capable of fighting against Bad End Kingdom are the Queen, Pop, and Candy (as support for the cures). The rest of the fairies are shy and easily scared.

Extra large Akanbe nose makes a super akanbe. Just a minor complaint which I hope the series will fix soon - since these new type of akanbe are so strong, does it mean that they have to "pegasus" each one? There should be another way to beat the new monster, because it could get monotonous if Miyuki blows a candle each episode.

Yeah, Princess mode is gorgeous, so I hope the Smiles eventually get to do something in that form even outside of the stock animation.

The real episode 25 probably won't compare to the beach episode in many fans' heads (but then, when does it ever?), so let's get the ball rolling.

Spoiler for Wilhelm Grimm's Magical Girls 25 - Nissan Summer: The Ninth Circle of Hell:

The ED's been updated, with no room for a new Cure. The five we got are the five we're sticking with. The seven jewels on the Smile Pact are just for decoration, it seems. I do love that, on the channels Akaoni was browsing through before finding out about the beach, they included Kamen Rider Some Guy and golf. Toei must be feeling meta.

It's a plot that's been seen many times before. A friendly competition becomes too heated for its own good. It was pretty much a duel of the couples. MiyuAka squaring off against NaoRei. Okonomiyaki vs Snow Cones - though Snow Cones were chosen for the MotW, we've already done Okonomiyaki. Regular Christmas in July there, what with Akaoni turning the Earth tsundere. The Nissan Combo's love for each other was what saved the day, after Nao was almost frozen today, and Akane was very nearly Wile E. Coyoted.

Seeing Akane and Nao get into the spirit of things was pretty fun to watch (one of them, probably Reika, is really good at making sand castles), and while there were no swimsuits, skimpy or otherwise to be found (unless you count Akaoni's trunks), the first episode of the second half of the series kicked off in a pretty entertaining way.

What was Yayoi doing during all of this? Having fun and being cute. This is why Yayoi is the team mascot, no matter how much they want you to think it's Candy.

Summer continues with festivals and Majorina.

I don't like the new ending... I especially hate how it's basically 1/4th just Cure Happy dancing... by herself. Then the others get like 2 second close ups in pairs, not even each one. I also don't like the song or the choreography but the backgrounds are nice I guess.
